As Malaysia moves towards an ageing society, ABARO, a homegrown footwear brand is stepping forward with a simple yet meaningful solution. The brand introduces the Tropix HideTech Sneakers, marking the first time its HideTech innovation is introduced in an adult sneaker, designed to support everyday care for loved ones while offering an added layer of peace of mind.

Designed with HideTech, one of the innovations recognised under the Malaysia Book of Records title “Most Innovative Features in a School Shoe”, the Tropix HideTech Sneakers are adapted for adult use with a discreet built-in pocket that enables a GPS tracker to be securely placed inside, supporting greater location visibility when needed.

The introduction reflects a growing shift in consumer needs, as more Malaysians balance work and caregiving responsibilities. Recent findings show that 1 in 10 Malaysians aged 60 and above are living with dementia, highlighting a growing need for practical, everyday solutions that support both individuals and their caregivers. At the same time, awareness around individuals with special needs, including autism, continues to grow further shaping how families approach care and safety in their daily lives.
