Poetry's role is at its most important in revolutionary times; poetry gave the revolution its voice, and in exchange the revolution freed poetry from its isolation; today the poet knows that he is understood by the people and especially understood by young people because youth, poetry, and revolution are one and the same!

"Join me in delirium!" Vitezslav Nezval cried out to his reader, and Baudelaire wrote: "One must always be drunk ... on wine, on poetry, or on virtue, as you wish. ..." Lyricism is intoxication, and man drinks in order to merge more easily with the world. Revolution has no desire to be examined or analyzed, it only desires that the people merge with it; in this sense it is lyrical and in need of lyricism.

When young people's education is at stake, compromise is a crime. We must guard against teachers with outdated ideas: the future will be new, or it will not exist. And we can no longer trust teachers who change their ideas from one day to the next: the future will be pure, or it will be tarnished.
