Love the idea of a character who is cold and aloof getting injured and is too proud to seek help. They think it'll heal on its own.
Of course, over time, it gets horribly infected, discolored, oozing, just plain disgusting to look at.
Said character would rather die than let someone see them like this, and they clumsily bandage the hot, festering wound the best they can. They even start to smell like disease.
It's not until they're literally at death's door that someone finally peels off the wet, bloody layers of gauze while they're unconscious and gasp in horror, bile rising in their throat
