Ive been a big fan of your work from Cowboy Bebop The After Hour Sessions and your work on A.I.P.D has inspired me in a lot of ways. What got you into drawing comics?
DUDE! So happy you got inspired. So first off. This year we're going to start releasing short one off works of A.I.P.D. because i finally feel good enough to do that now that i have a better idea of what i'm doing and i'm just realizing after years of working on Peter Parker: Foreign Exchange Student that i'm better off on short comics than working on graphic novel length narratives.
To answer your question: I got into drawing when i was a little boy reading captain underpants and being inspired to make terribly drawn comics like the kids in it too. And also seeing a documentary about Spider-man in the comics and it had a lot of interviews with classic spider-man artists up until the 2000's. And it made me realize. People made this stuff. And maybe i could too.
Originally i wanted to do this for a living but alas i never really figured out how to be popular on the internet to make enough money or get a job. but with the comics industry crashing, the animation industry in turmoil. and not knowing how to be popular enough on the internet to make enough without drowning in commission work. I make zero dollars from this. But it also means i'm free to do what i want. eh. them's the shakes.
