I shall now push my Jane x Adam agenda by politely asking you to make headcanons for these two.
oh this is such a cute ship! hope i could do it justice <3
The textbook example of two mature people in a loving relationship, Jane and Adam often get jokingly referred to as the “old married couple” by their friends.
They’re very much aunt and uncle figures for the survivors, Adam as the logical teacher and Jane as the nurturing mentor. Since both are extremely non-judgemental and known to keep a secret, it’s not unusual for the younger survivors to seek them out for advice or support.
Both valuing honesty, they rarely fight as any disagreements get privately discussed before they can become an issue. Jane is the more jealous of the two and Adam has some self-esteem issues, but they’re able to accept each other’s flaws and work on them together.
By the campfire, they’re often in their own friend groups; each valuing their space and independence, knowing the other will still be there for them. Jane prefers spending time with Élodie and Yun-Jin, while Adam can usually be found quietly chatting with Zarina or Felix.
That doesn’t mean they ignore each other, by any means. They exchange glances and soft smiles across the campfire, and Adam usually sneaks an innocent kiss on Jane’s cheek whenever he gets back from a trial.
It’s not until they retreat to their shared space to rest that they allow themselves to truly relax. Jane is somewhat embarrassed about just how much she craves Adam’s affection, so used to having to appear strong whenever she was in the spotlight. She absolutely melts when he wraps his arms around her as they drift off to sleep, feeling petite next to his larger frame.
Despite Adam being booky and kind of a nerd, he’s also a romantic sap. Not a day goes by when he’s not reminding Jane how beautiful she is and how lucky he is to have her by his side. However, he still gets bashful whenever she returns the compliment, which only gives Jane a reason to do so more often.
Even though Jane knows he can handle himself, she’s extremely protective of Adam both inside the trials and out, as nothing gets her blood boiling like seeing the man she loves being hurt. Whether it’s chewing out her fellow survivors for picking a fight with him or even physically tackling a killer for daring to tunnel him, Jane will always have Adam’s back.
