Never Far, Always yours
The rain collected and trickled down the sloped, red-roof in even waterfalls, as if such adaptation to the many weather's that effected the Jade Forrest had been planned. Surely it had, the Pandaren were smart enough for such. I felt more than remiss for missing the ceremony, but even in the dark and cold rain, it's beauty was not lost upon me. Quite the contrary... the adversity the world presented to finding and maintaining true love was exemplified before me, and behind me, inside the inn, the resistance and refusal to quit such effort... with mine own love as much as the matrimony of Doctor Wellson and Venifica.
There ceremony was only sweetened by the almost literal cherry that was Zaliene and her happiness that swathed the whole reception like an ellek's tusk upon a goblin shoe. Her meanderings, her squeels, questions upon questions... perhaps in the normal day to day they would try my patience, and even others... but not this one. Every revelation and question uttered fourth from her was as adorable as the last, none without place and merit. I am happy for them, if perhaps selfishly in thoughts to mine own wedding. It will be... smaller. A notion Quai agree's with, I knew before, and am assured of now again, as we discussed it....
She is to correspond to feckless dealings. Work for thugs and do what she must to keep her freedom. The rain falls harder as if to match the gripping of my hand about what she had given me whilst her quarrels plagued my mind's eye. Knowing it keepsake, it's fragility, I release my grip and look upon the pocketwatch.
"To Alex, From your father"; "To Quai, from your father"; and "To Stanhis, love Quai".
I smile. I think this gift greater than anything received before, perhaps save the chance encounter upon the bow of a ship that brought me and Quai together in the first place. I think it the perfect gift for our son, should the fates allow. So he too may appreciate each tick, each speck and droplet of rain.
Pandaria is beautiful. As is she.
