The main trailer for My Dearest Assassin is here, introducing Netflix Thailand’s first action romantic drama — a story of brutal, close‑quarters combat, a rare blood that won’t stop drawing danger, and a young woman who finally decides to fight back.

Premiering on May 7, the film follows Lhan (Baifern-Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul), born with a rare blood type that made her a target from childhood. After her parents are murdered for that blood, she is rescued by House 89, a secretive assassin clan that becomes the only family she has ever known. Years later, the man who killed her parents is still hunting for her blood. This time, instead of running, Lhan makes a different choice: to stand her ground alongside the people she loves.

Action First, But Rooted in Emotion

Known for his work in horror, director Taweewat Wantha brings a raw, grounded style to the film’s action. The trailer showcases bone‑jarring hand‑to‑hand fights, gun battles and tactical takedowns in tight spaces, with each character fighting in a way that reflects who they are.

Pran (Tor-Thanapob Leeratanakachorn), the heir to House 89, moves like a freerunner — sprinting, jumping and climbing through chaos. M (Porsche–Sivakorn Adulsuttikul), an orphan raised in the house, fights with brute force, turning whatever is within reach into a weapon. Lhan, seemingly slight, is quick and precise, her small knife becoming deadly in her hands. Together, they witness House 89 turn from sanctuary into battlefield.

Thanapob shares that My Dearest Assassin pushed him harder than any action role he has taken on: “It was the most demanding and intense project, so endurance was very important. We trained, we tested our limits, and we focused on safety for everyone — not just the actors but the crew as well. I felt that if I had prepared this much, I had to try to perform the action myself.”

For Sivakorn, who plays M, this was his first full action film. “The action in this movie is very intense,” he says. “The character has been training from a young age, so his fighting style changes depending on the situation — no two fights are the same. I learned a lot about stunt work, timing and fighting for the camera. The stunt team and director pushed us to make every move feel more realistic, more intense and more satisfying.”

Love, Blood and the Family You Choose

Beneath the violence, the trailer also hints at the emotional core of My Dearest Assassin: the bonds inside House 89 and the question of who truly counts as family. “This movie presents many forms of love — young love, familial love, and most importantly, love and relationships that go beyond blood ties,” says director Taweewat. “The assassins of House 89 live together, grow up together, and stand by one another. Their love is so powerful that they are willing to sacrifice their lives for each other.”

Lhan is the emotional center of that found family. Once a terrified child who lost everything, she becomes a woman who chooses to stand and fight rather than be hunted forever. Baifern points to the theme of chosen family at the heart of Lhan’s journey: “Even if it isn’t a family connected by blood, we can choose the people we love, care for and protect. That’s what Lhan finds in House 89.”

Pran is defined by how fiercely he protects the people he loves in a world where he rarely says what he feels out loud. M embodies loyalty born from gratitude. Taken in as an orphan by House 89’s leader Poh (Chai-Chartayodom Hiranyasthiti), he sees the assassins as the only family he’s ever known and would die to keep them safe, even if it means silently stepping back when both he and Pran fall for Lhan.

My Dearest Assassin is filled with stylized, brutal action, but at its heart lies a simple, universal question: how far would you go to protect the family you chose?
