If buddie where a rom-com who fo you this season 5 plot of Buck telling Eddie to break up with Ana would resolve itself? As cheesy and OT rom-com tropes as you like.

Does he show up somewhere in the pouring rain? Does he chase Buck through an airport? A big public declaration 'I'm not scared to love a man anymore' or something else?

okay so here is my pitch

its the last like 5ish minutes of the episode of calls about best friends falling in love and calls that are mudslide hollywood sign room mates esque you know the vibe,

[RAIN by ben platt in the background]

[its pouring after the heatwave]

eddie runs to bucks loft, and stands soaking wet in the doorway

and he just stands there for a second, but before he can knock buck opens the door clearly about to go somewhere.

and eddie starts talking, like something along the lines of "i know youre with taylor, and oh god that's probably where you are going right now, but i just needed to tell you etc etc." and buck keeps trying to tell him to stop and get a word in edgewise. eventually eddie gets to the end and its like "i should probably go"

and buck just goes "i broke up with her. i was on my way to you."

looks up at him.

roll credits.

next episode opens with 2x04 esque montage with buck.

Buck was living with them I imagine at some point a couple weeks in they would have a convo that went something a little like this.

Eddie: You know you can go home right? Like sleep in your own bed, spend time with your supposed girlfriend. (he does not want this)

Buck: I sleep better here (eg. can't sleep if i'm not at least close to you cause he has nightmares and gets up to go look in on eddie and chris for reassurance)

Eddie: there is no way that tiny couch is comfortable, it's been weeks!

Buck: (muttering) who said it was about comfort.

Eddie: well if you insist at least sleep on a bed.

Buck: there isn't another bed ????

Eddie: take mine

Buck: I'm not kicking you out of your bed you were shot

Eddie: i never said i wasn't gonna be sleeping there too

Buck: oh

that night buck doesn't sleep at all and just watches eddie, listening to his breathing. it's the best night of sleep eddie has had in weeks. the next night buck gets the best sleep he's had in weeks.

yeah that's all i got

Now, what pet do you think you think thenBuckley-Diaz's would get? I'm thinking a cat because shift work life and maybe a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia that chris says walks like him. I know a kid who had a dog with the same disability as them and the bond they have is so sweet.

I am 100% a Cat Person Eddie Diaz truther. So yes they adopt a cat. And they adopt a senior cat or a rescue of some kind, because kittens are complicated and a lot™ and it just wouldn't be practical or good for the kitten with their work schedules.

OK, here's one- What docyou think Chris thinks about his Dad and Buck, like how does he see their relationship?

I like the idea that with them being a bubble etc, Chris starting thinking that his dad and Buck where like Harry's dad and David and he was happy and then the 'I'm dating a woman' convo happened.

okay so i have wanted to talk about chris this entire time because i see bits of myself in him, which is not great for him 😅but i think tells an honest story about having complex relationships with the adults in your life as a kid, the little glimpses we have had of chris so far this season are telling me he is saying one thing that he thinks Eddie wants to hear in relation to ana and feeling another(like eddie says chris said he was excited to go suit shopping and the christening, but then when they are actually trying suits chris is so super unhappy-there is more to this i wont get into rn). And because Eddie has always taught him to use his words, especially after what happened in 4x08, he trusts chris' word.

I also think that despite having the conversation with Buck in 4x08, those feelings are still lingering, because those big complex feelings are not solved by one convo with the other prominent adult in his life. And I think this might be another reason Eddie is saying, "my kid loves her." in regard to him not loving (or frankly liking) her.

And it doesn't seem like Buck's role in their lives has lessened at all since Ana's pseudo-integration in their lives, so I guess I don't think Chris thought they were together, and then became unhappy when Ana came along. I think those feelings are sort of isolated to each relationship in his life, because no matter who Eddie is with, Chris and Buck are a unit.

okay so like there is so much happening in that scene

1)okay so ravi my baby, i think he is thinking that he has seen the buckandeddie thing in treasure hunt and around the station, and heard buck talk about eddie and chris cause it seems like buck has decided to adopt the b shift probie and rope him into clipboard!buck shenanigans whenever possible. (cause i am now convinced after 4x06 that eddie will not indulge clipboard!buck whatsoever, and that is the only explanation behind eddie not being a part of power czar hijinks thank you). and he keeps trying to ask buck what the dynamic is exactly but never gets a straight (heh) answer from buck, so when he witnesses buck hug this kid, he deduces that its chris since eddie is also there, and there is no way that it could be anyone else. so he floats a hypothesis that would reveal the truth eg-is this your wife?, haha no? buck is my bf lol this is my sister, (i.e.- i dont think he actually believes ana is eddies wife), which ends up rocking things in an unexpected way.
