Not to be a downer at all, I definitely do think Buddie is happening, but didnβt the same exact articles come out the beginning of the season too? Especially the one about them being on the list of couples that need to get together?

Oh no, this is different. The articles that are coming out are actually based on canon now. We have seen Tommy and Maddie question Buck's feelings for Eddie. We have seen Buck talk about whether or not he's in love with Eddie. They have shown us their co-dependency to a degree we hadn't seen before in any other season.
So this time the articles are based on something that has happened. We have witnessed it. If they appear on a list of couples that need to get together? It is based on the fact that the show actually WENT THERE in season 8.
They pulled out all the romantic stops for Buddie, so these articles aren't reaching for something that has no base whatsoever. This is no longer a matter of subtext , it's all right there in the actual text. So exciting!π€
The Buddie foundation has been growing during all the previous seasons, but it was perfected in season 8, especially 8b.
Couple that to the fact that both Oliver and Ryan are all over social media and television these days: photoshoots, posting about holidays and travelling, interviews... you name it. ABC is definitely hyping up Ryan and Oliver during this hiatus to a degree we haven't seen before.
Last hiatus Oliver disappeared into the wild for months and Ryan posted once in a while, but not like now. They both seem so relaxed and happy as well. They seem to be in a good place, both personally and professionally.
It's definitely happening.π I'm just so very curious how they're going to go about it. π€
