So at any point during this (before the separation, after the separation and before Robbie died, or after Robbie died but before Donna's origin was rewritten) you get to intervene and take the story in a different direction. What do you do?

I'd have probably stopped after the divorce but before Robbie died. The marriage is still dead, though. And I can't see Donna/Kyle long-term. While I didn't mind them together, the timing just screamed "rebound" so loud it drowned out everything else for me.
