X-MIX 3: Enter Digital Reality (techno, 1994)
"The most innovative artists and DJ`s, the cutting edge of computer animation- this was the X-Mix concept. The beginning of the legendary series in 1993 saw the visualization of techno begin to sweep into 3D.
On Enter: Digital Reality, Richie Hawtin and John Aquaviva provide the mix for a journey further into virtual dimensions than techno had ever gone before -- the ever more confident animations reflecting the increasing sophistication of techno itself, reflected in some of the genres most memorable tracks from the likes of Speddy J, LSG, Plastikman, Laurent Garnier and Hardfloor." # - artist - title -- video -- label 01. Nice and Games -- Digital Dreamware [3DO]
"Get ready to ride the wave of trippy vibes!!! Or something. Actually, the liner notes are far more descriptive than that. Digital Dreamware for the 3DO is not a music visualizer in the sense that it responds directly to the audio input of the music file, rather, there are preset sorts of graphics, and you can switch and move and alter the color of them in real-time. The whole look and sound is steeped in the mid-1990s, which makes sense, as the game was released in 1995. I used to find it to be very dated and stale, but now I actually quite enjoy it for what it is, a fun audiovisual toy! If you're interested in 1990s electronic music and visuals, you could probably have some fun with this. But, remember you can't use your own CDs to play around with it. You are limited to the 6 included songs. The songs are all around 5-6 minutes long or so, so you are given a bit over 30 minutes of stuff to play around with."
