- Lanie had a complicated relationship with a big name in the fashion industry in the 80s, Julian Vance a photographer who initially helped her rise but slowly turned into her jailer rather than her lover, their 16 years age gap always raised eyebrows in the fashion circles.

𝐏𝐎𝐕: you’re will byers’ ‘twin’ and simultaneously one of the most popular girls in school and part of the weird kids

𝓻ebecca ‘𝓻uby’ 𝓫yers, stuco president. av club, photography, volleyball, debate, and fencing.

ruby spent most of her time either being forced into playing dnd with The Party (which she enjoyed a bit too much, don’t tell the boys because you did not hear this from her) , trying to not let the gazillion clubs she was in drown her, devouring thousands of books to absorb whatever the hell mr clarke discussed in his class again, listening to new mixtapes jonathon made her and will, or photographing random stuff with the digicam joyce gifted her with. all with her best friend, myla wheeler alongside her, for you would never see one without the other.

( though they hadn’t known then, but myla and ruby were the actual twins. as much as they had delusioned—myla had mesmerized the wheelers, the byers, and the twins—themselves into thinking that myla was mike’s twin, and ruby was will’s, it just wasn’t true. while she was ecstatic to find out that her best friend who she called her sister was her actual sister, it was another series of mysteries to an already complicated web of mysteries )

that would have been the case for this particular day, november 6th 1983 as well. she had been gossiping with myla wheeler in the attic, but they had both went to mike’s basement to play with the party. ruby had been recording them play dnd with her camera, interjecting from behind as myla whispered about how heated the boys were in the game, and they giggled. but sooner than later they had to leave.

swimming with guilt after her brother’s disappearance, she became involved with this.. strange.. girl called el—well, eleven, but el seemed more familiar and nice—with superpowers (?!?!?) who called her and myla sisters, monsters from the depths of hell (no, dustin, i do not care that they are called demogorgons), and this upside down place which supposedly had her twin. truth be told, she really didn't give a damn about any of it, she just wanted her brother back.

it didn't help that in the midst of that, myla and her started to get these deja vu type of memories, except it wasn’t deja vu at all, it was supposedly real. and it was with dread ruby came to realize that all she had known up till now might have been just illusions. lies.

but ruby byers was nothing but a cunning little bitch, as the bullies back home had named her, and she would do about anything to get her brother, will byers, back. no matter what.

𝓹owers. initially written off as weak sound manipulation. vibration manipulation. omnilingualism. vocal manipulation. sub-power of wave manipulation. variation of energy manipulation and kinetic energy manipulation. noise manipulation. sonic/sound wave manipulation. can replicate any noise. can also use echo-location to find things/people, and echo at a high or low frequency. sonokinesis in general, and sonokinesis which can cut people. evolves into full on energy manipulation. energy manipulation as telekinesis. mild mesmerization as sonokinesis. force fields. telepathy.

sonokinesis was it at first and it didn't seem all that impressive to dr. brenner. that’s why she had ended up being sent back to her birth family ( not the byers ) from the lab. but later when myla and ruby practice, she can manipulate anything that has energy. it includes humans and is the same wavelength as el.

myla and my birthday are 14th february, but since we don’t know we’re twins, everyone knows our cr birthdays.

our backstory is on this post of myla’s, but i’ll summarize it.

the other kids used in dr. brenner’s lab were all sent back to their birth families if they didn’t live up to their exceptions. and we didn't. so we were sent to the yuberrys, who were just batshit crazy, and we ran away but ended up in hawkins, indiana. will and mike were friends before kindergarten in here, and we saw them playing on the swings. we decided to play with them and immediately became a quartet, but myla and I knew we had to leave soon because we were living in the goddamn woods of hawkins. long story short, myla mesmerized the wheelers, byers, and even ourselves so myla became a part of the wheelers, mike’s twin, and I became a part of the byers, will’s twin.

funny thing, both families assume we look like our asian uncle cause we are fully bengali, lol. and we didn’t have a middle name before, but joyce called me juniper while karen called myla lynette.

even though myla and i think we are just best friends, we still do absolutely everything together. eating, studying, going to school, watching movies, sleeping, changing, shopping—everything. our families and friends often joke about us being twins, if only they knew how true that was.. even if we weren't, she’s my soulmate in every way. and i’ll follow her literally anywhere, she just needs to name the place.

the events are a bit spaced out, and everyone works a little more efficiently. everyone works together earlier because myla and I get the information from our siblings and joyce, and we’re already in the kiddos gang anyway. we just spread the information to connect the dots.

like myla said, enhypen are side characters in here. mostly because we didn’t want them to be involved in the events and be traumatized.. as hell..

but my s/o is yang jungwon, who is my best friend later on. the plot is inspired by this fanfic i read, where the fl liked her best friend and the ml liked his best friend but those two best friends liked each other, and then the ml and fl fell in love with each other because they started spending more time with each other. he's also in a band! and i tutor sunghoon, who is like two grades above mine lmao.

i have my own room which i scripted into the byers house but i’m always crashing in will’s or joyce is sleeping with me as i was a scaredycat when i was younger, and it bleeds through sometimes now.

i don’t have the traditional siblings relationship with my brothers. will is my bestest friend ever alongside myla, and i could not imagine my life without them. telling them all my secrets, giggling over gossip, listening to their worries and troubles and them doing the same for me, and just spending every moment together. will may not be my actual twin, but he sure does feel like an extension of myself. and jonathon is basically my dad. he might be subtly overprotective, but i would not trade him for anything in the world ever. he gifted me my first ever camera after i expressed interest in his, and he's been my mentor ever since. we share our immense love for music, and i’m always nagging him to do my hair which he had to learn after that one accident.

which led to this.

i think will might be the first one to find out about the memories and me being added to the byers, as he’s even more of a smarty-pants than i am. but i’m not sure, anything can happen!
