Working on the new campaign for my group. Gonna play Call of Cthulhu. Set in 1937.
The Credulist is a weekly national tabloid with the tagline "We Believe You". Published by the self-made millionaire (and blackmailer) Eleanor Vale, the paper prints a lurid mix of fact and fiction. On the back page of every issue is a solicitation for eyewitness accounts and photos of the strange--with good pay for good leads.
The PCs are journalists who work for Art Kincaid, the ever-bellowing managing editor and a traumatized veteran who once photographed something… wrong. Each story a 'reader' sends in will be a published adventure, and the players will play through it with the provided prefab characters.
Then their actual PCs will investigate the story (maybe years) afterward. And decide how (and if) to publish it, alter it, or bury it. Then as they choose to shape the publication of mythos shit, the main campaign will evolve.
