I said it to point out that there's all kinds of grief. And every single feeling you have is valid." She ran her hand down his arm. "Darling, look at me."

I’ll give you all a little taste of the new oneshot I started working on the other day! It’s a fun one, if I do say so myself, that starts with a little middle school steve and bucky ft. practice kisses and sexuality crises that eventually leads to present day steve and bucky reuniting ft. flirting, oblivious steve, and a big miscommunication

It’s much different from the way Bucky kissed him; Peggy’s softer all around, and a bit more reserved. Her shoulders aren’t nearly as broad as Bucky’s are either. Regardless of the differences, though, Steve still enjoys it.

He can’t shake the nagging thought that he might just enjoy kissing Bucky a little bit more.

It’s a thought that eventually leads to him breaking things off with Peggy. Steve feels terrible about it, because he really does like Peggy. But she deserves better than Steve, with his constant dwelling on Bucky and their kisses and the unclarity of what it all means swirling around in his brain.

I’ve been so absent working on my book chapter but the first draft is with the editor yesssssss. I have had a few tags for the 7-7-7 meme (shout out @bounding-heart @goldentruth813 @lqtraintracks @gracie137blogs and @rowingineden - thank you so much loves!!) so I’ve opened up the one fic I’ve got on the go that isn’t going to post anon (for the fabulous HP WLW Big Bang) and taken an extract from that. I cheated and posted a little more than 7 lines. The characters are Minerva McGonagall and Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank (Will).

“The crowd’s go wild for Elvis. We can’t let the queens at The Gryffindor Lion have all the fun, can we?” Will winks.

“The Gryffindor Lion?” Minerva wants to keep Will chatting for as long as she can, even if she feels like a first year trying to learn Transfiguration.  

“The gay bar down the street. They’ve a drag night on Thursdays.” Will chuckles under her breath. “I’m guessing it’s your first time at the Gates?”

“Yes.” Minerva’s heart races at the reference to a gay bar as things start to fall slowly into place. “I was buying plum brandy for a friend.”

“Finest plum brandy in England.” Will pushes her hands into her pockets and gives Minerva a curious look. “First time visiting Little Compton Street too?”

“First time anywhere like this,” Minerva replies. She hopes her question isn’t rude, but the need to ask it burns through her. “Is this a gay bar?”

“Aye.” Will puffs her chest out, looking proud. “Oldest in the UK, even older than the Muggle ones. It’s been here forever. Little Compton Street is somewhere our sort can go, best place in the world. We don’t widely publicise it. Those who need to know tend to find out about us, one way or another.”

“Is that what Specter wants?” Mike asks absently, the majority of his attention already turned to photocopying the contents of the folder into his mind and pulling them apart for a better view of the angles.

“Sweeter deals generally mean higher salaries,” Louis responds, equally engrossed in thumbing through his own copy of Specter’s contract. And then, because he might be an asshole but he’s not a bad lawyer, he adds, “He’ll have specifics for us when he comes in. I’ll cover the finance angles - I’ve gone toe to toe with these club types before and they’re all corypheés to my primeur danseur. I can handle them. You just do that thing you do.”

I panicked at first, but today Bluebell posted the result of her WIP and it was glorious. I am hoping that the bare bones I post here will turn out half as good as Bluebell’s work did.

This is from Heather Who Loved Roses, a story for @thetimemoves who won me in the FandomTumpsHate auction. The story is in that awkward editing stage and looks like a basket of wet washing and is as difficult to handle.

“You have to stop them!” Clara cried. She had Rosie with her, and carried the stupid bag of toys and wipes.

“Stop who?” Sherlock asked.

“John and Harry! They’re going to the funeral to throw rocks at his father’s coffin!”

“John has a father?”

“Of course he has a father! He’s been in prison and he died a couple of days ago. He’s being buried this afternoon and John and Harry are –“

“John’s father has been in PRISON?” (Honestly, I would pay quite a lot of money to have seen the look on Sherlock’s face when he learnt that.)

So the only WIP I have right now is a Jeddy fic I started months ago before I started Food Fair and Next Gen Fest and its pretty short still since its only the barebone beginnings of a one-shot. It’s only 4 pages long so far so I’m just cheating and finding 7 sentences I like.

“James is going to do something from which there is no coming back.” Albus took another drink of his beer and stared at Teddy.

“You’re being a dramatic fucker,” James said softly, eyes still shut as he yawned. His voice was warm and amused and Teddy couldn’t help but wonder how many beers James had already had before Teddy got there if he was already sleepy. James never could hold his liquor.

Albus snorted. Teddy felt Albus kick James beneath the table. “Am not. You’re taking your kit off for all of England.”

So as you all surely know by now I have a million WIP’s so the hardest part of this was choosing which one to go with for this challenge lol and ofc in true character fashion my indecisive ass couldn’t choose and ultimately decided to just do my two faves that I’m working on at the moment cause we all know I live to break rules lol

The first is a fantasy ziam fic i’ve been working on for a couple of months now featuring mermaid!liam (and mermaid!harry), wherein liam, mesmerized by the voice of a mysterious human he hears singing on the pier, ventures on land in search of him and discovers the wonders (and dangers) of the human world along the way, and maybe what it means to fall in love too

Every time Liam’s come back from the pier they’ve fought. Interacting directly with humans is generally frowned upon by their kind, and by doing so Liam’s broken one of the most important unspoken rules, but he can’t seem to help himself.

Haz doesn’t understand. Liam doesn’t know that he himself does either but every night since that day he’s dreamt of that voice and every morning he wakes with it gone again, feeling as if something has been taken from him.

They’ve heard stories, from when they were children, about their kind going on land. Most of them weren’t stories with nice endings, though now that he’s older Liam isn’t sure how much of those stories were true and how much were simply meant to frighten them away from interacting with humans or trying to go on land. It doesn’t stop him from wanting to find out though...

The second is from a fic i’ve been working on for a while now that i’m really nervous about posting anything from cause it involves non-cis characterization which is obvi not my experience and i’m very wary of the possibility of not portraying things properly and unintentionally offending people but hopefully this will give me a chance to reach out to some gq/nb people who might be willing to read over what i’ve written so far and give me feedback and/or constructive criticism (so if you’re an nb/gq/trans/non-cis person reading this who’s intrigued by the following snippet and/or the summary and would be willing to give me feedback please do let me know!) anyway now onto to the brief summary of the fic which features virgin!liam and genderqueer!zayn wherein liam is worried about embarrassing himself when it comes time to be with the girl he likes and his best friend zayn, who is also sometimes a girl, hatches a plan to help liam lose his virginity/get his first-time jitters out and who better than with his best friend and the (sometimes) girl he trusts most, but things end up getting way more messy and complicated than either of them anticipated

“Shut up, you’re awful.” Liam grabs a balled up scrap of paper from over by the waste bin and chucks it at him.

“Ew, don’t throw that at me, I don’t know where it’s been!” Zayn says trying to dodge it while narrowly avoiding falling out of the window. Liam secretly kind of wants him to, if only for the satisfaction of seeing Zayn do something not so cool looking for once. But of course it misses him and flies right out the open window.“Better wash your hands, who knows what those other nerds get up to in here or what might have been inside it,” he says with a waggle of his eyebrows.

“Gross,” Liam says.
