Sydney DJ Heretic is bringing the filth with this absolute cracker of a set for [nstbt_podcast_065]

It's a heavy dose of dirty techno just the way we like it, with just the right amount of acid thrown in there for good measure.

Heretic is no stranger when it comes to the Sydney underground electronic music scene. Playing both under Heretic for his hard techno and freeform sets, and his other alias DJ Polar for jungle and drum and bass.

One of the fastest rising stars in the global hardtechno scene returns for his second submission for our [nstbt_podcast] series.

Portuguese DJ/producer: El'Figo

Our paths crossed on Instagram back in 2019 when he approached us about sending us a mix. I had no idea of the global impact he would then go on to have. Uniting DJ's and producers the world over through his various remix projects, live streams and events.

It has been an absolute pleasure to witness him moving from strength to strength over these last couple of years, as his infectious passion ignites and unites others, helping to create new opportunities for all.

This mix is a showcase of one of his trademark high bpm hardtechno sets. Combining elements of industrial and hardcore, with street attitude. A couple of his newest productions are also on display here, so don't sleep on this one!

With a career that spans multiple decades, this multi genre producer has put together a mix showcasing of some of his releases under various aliases, from some of his various labels.

Ranging from hypnotic percussive techno, through to squelchy acid and the sounds of early hardcore. This whole mix is a vibe from start to finish!

His body of work is extensive, and finds creative ways of sharing his music through varying mediums such as vinyl, floppy disk and some more abstract methods.

He's a radio show host, has been nominated for the QUARTZ Electronic Music Awards in 2006 for both their 'dance music' and 'electronic music' categories.

Last year Brazilian artist Cement Tea dropped a massive remix project on us all, which featured a host of talented artists from around the world: https://nosleeptillbedtime.bandcamp.com/album/oxymoron-remixes

We had hoped to be a part of this compilation, but as usual. Life got in the way ⁣⁣#fuckbread

So as the time passed, a lot of unfinished and abandoned projects started to pile up, and have sat here on our computer. And unfortunately, not much has changed…

In recent times I had revisited the remix, and there were actually three different working versions at one stage. I couldn’t decide which one to invest in. And again, time got away on us…

Until today.

Today I decided to say fuck it, just do it!

I hate the idea of content for contents sake. Where everything has become so disposable, or only used as a means of achieving some sort of short term relevance or attention. I‘m never satisfied with anything that I make either way, even those tracks in the past I did that may have been well received.

So ultimately, who am I to judge?

I still have so much music and art to share with you all. Things that I’d even go as far as to say I actually like... lol

But without allowing these things an opportunity to be heard and seen, what good is it all sitting here on my old hard drive?
