1. Favorite game from the last 5 years?

Nier: Automata, no question. Every so often a game comesaround that makes me remember why I love gaming, that captures the spirit ofwonder that I saw the first time I turned on my friend’s Playstation for thefirst time, and this was the most recent one to do that. The world is gorgeous,the music is bar none some of the best in any media, the characters areheartbreakingly genuine and earnest, and if you can get through the jank it hassome of the most thought provoking story beats and character moments I’ve seenin any game to date.

18. Place from a game that you’d like to live in?

Probably Fa’Diel from Legend of Mana. It’s just such a soft,dreamy place full of vibrant life and color. And I could be like a teapot or agrape or something, which, let’s be real, would be dope as hell. This game andits setting is the equivalent of drinking hot cocoa while wrapped in a quiltlooking out on a snowy night, knowing you don’t have anywhere to be tomorrow.Even in the game’s version of Hell, everyone is actually pretty nice!

12. Will you change anything about the way you edit or rewrite in 2018?

I am....going to try to be better about using a beta. I’ve been blessed to have one for Always in this Twilight, and she’s made the story immeasurably better with her advice, so like. Gotta be sure to stop being so....eager to post? I spend so long working on things, sometimes, that as soon as it’s done I just want to swing it into the wide world and let it go, but I cannot do that. EXTRA EYES MAKE THINGS SO MUCH BETTER.

20. Any plans to work on original fiction this year?

second: HOO OK so ive been sitting on a little writing thing about how i imagine their relationship would develop in canon so this reminds me that i should finish that lmao

but im such a sucker for redemption shit?? like, with atla, zuko’s storyline stole my goddamn heart, same with thane krios from mass effect, bucky of course from marvel comics, and it’s smth that i’ve recently noticed is a recurring background for my dnd characters lmao

anyway! i’ve always been partial to quote-unquote rarepairs and i sometimes compulsively scour ao3 to find fics that are centered around rarepairs, and i ended up stumbling upon a couple on satya/hanzo!!

and it kind of made me think about the quiet dynamic of them, entire conversations passing between the two with the simple action of raising an eyebrow or tilting a head. i feel that they would communicate almost completely with body language and quiet touches. it just comes naturally to them. and on days when satya is exhausted and nonverbal, hanzo wouldn’t push her and god it’s nice when someone doesnt yell at you to talk when youre unable to speak lol

so i guess what draws me to them, is that they both have their own pasts they’re trying to recover from — they were both groomed to do someone else’s bidding (vishkar/shimada clan). and i imagine that they’re both eager to start a life separate from the people who used to control them, and i could see them both exploring things they never got to do before and it makes me cry a little bit.

...okay honestly I was just browsing the symmetra tag waaaaaay back when and encountered some lovely nsfw art of them from eroticlava...and it got me thinking! Those two both have an intense vibe but I think that would be mellowed out together out of familiarity haha ��

yes!! i totally love the idea of them being so intimidating to others and then if someone ever caught satya and hanzo being domestic together it’d be so confusing?? like, genji walks in on satya and hanzo just lazing together on the couch watching korean dramas that hana recommended (bc she has a cameo in a couple episodes, obv). and genji’s brain just kind of short-circuits bc he doesn’t remember the last time he saw his brother just... relax??

Okay, so, confession: Casual Magic came out of me wanting to work out the pairings for myself. I love the magic/science dichotomy, and Genji and Satya definitely have that! Their personalities also felt like they lined up, to me; I liked the idea of Satya having a partner who was quiet and calm and gentle with her, and I felt Genji could be all of those things.

Casual Magic, then, was me playing around with the characters to see if they stuck, for me, and the more I wrote of them, the more they did. Genji and Satya have surprisingly similar backgrounds, in a lot of ways, in terms of being manipulated by people who were supposed to care about them (Genji’s family; Vishkar) so Genji would understand how badly she struggles with all of the leftover stuff from that, because he was there. I feel like they would be a really great friends to lovers story, and just...

Ahhhh I think they’re sweet and would be kind and gentle and good for each other. I LIKE SOFTNESS IN MY SHIPS AND THEY ARE SO WONDERFULLY SOFT.

If Tiberius was gifted special fit bunny slippers, I think he would be delighted x3 I've been listening to the first campaign as I level in wow! I'm all caught up with the second campaign but I'm only on episode 7 for the first.
