If Akechi hated it, he should ask how Akira's been feeling this past month. He woke up on New Year's screaming when he saw an unknown man in his bed - Morgana turned into a human, and the rest of the team was overjoyed over everything going well. Too well, almost as if their trauma and past experiences never existed. He interrogated them, tried to snap them out of it and then in the end, they all agreed to stop him.
The deadline was tomorrow. No one knew how much he struggled to sleep at night with his panic attacks of something going on. Of slipping into a never-ending dream or failing to change this reality. Regardless, he put all his trust in Maruki even when he grew suspicious of all his talk on cognitions and the inner workings of one's heart and removing all their pain.
As if that was a permanent solution to their problems.
Akira inhaled sharply. "You think it's not the same for me too?" He crossed his arms, leaning against the counter, eyes sharply meeting his. "I've had... so many thoughts lately. I can't sleep, eat or do anything without thinking about you and... everyone else. He's going to pay for what he did. I swear it. If you end up disappearing, then... at least... I'll have your glove with me. You still owe me a duel, remember? You can't--" He paused. "You can't die on me now. If you do, I'll find you in the afterlife."
