for that ask post, what’s on your mind/what you’re thinking about?
AHHHH Alistair 🥹 that's so nice of you to say and hhhhahahahah I don't mind tbh I'm happy to share what's on my mind at the moment!
I'm kind of stuck in a place of trying to decide what to do, right now. Thinking about language (considering joining a francophone club at school when I get there) as well as a meningococcal vaccine (got my second dose on Tuesday, fatigue is hitting me hard today which is fine because I'm used to fatigue but I'm wondering how much of it is just me, my poor sleep last night, or the vaccine as that's a side effect lmao), wanting to work on some writing but being torn on whether to work on fanfic or Nyx Round 16 follow up (especially considering that Vant said she was going to write something and I kind of want to incorporate whatever Tov does into my thing and I have a drawing that isn't finished but I don't want to color rn) so I'll *probably* end up working on fanfic or playing more Fire Emblem Engage which I am replaying on hard mode with fem!Alear to see what the differences are and the biggest difference is the second episode of the Fell Xenologue took me like. 10 tries because god they are so fragile.
Oh and isn't it interesting how the "X" letter in English can be pronounced as both "sh" and "z" depending on the root of the word? "Sh" is more a Chinese/East Asian pronunciation (to my knowledge anyways) and the "z" pronunciation is more from Greek based words like "xenophobia" or "xenia" which both use Greek roots (xenophobia being xenos and phobos which is "other" and "fear" whereas xenia is hospitality or literally "guest friendship" which is basically the opposite of xenophobia and yet they come from the same root word of xenos). Like neither pronunciation is incorrect per se, it's just a difference of source. Two tributaries (sh and z) might come from the same river (X) but that doesn't mean they aren't distinct and valid in their own right. Anyways that was a weird rabbit hole I went down
Thanks so much for the question, Alistair! I was a joy to have an excuse to ramble heh
