my random thoughts after watching look back

such a compelling film about art and friendship, and my takeaway: humans’ need for validation. I loved the portrayal of Ayumu as an artist, at first she drew because of the praises she received and thought that she was talented. Then when Kyomoto came along her art was seen as average, so she practised hard to improve for others. Eventually when she became friends with Kyomoto she understood how much value other artists cld bring to her own art, and the process became much more enjoyable with company. I guess the ending really struck me, for me I kinda interpreted it as she continued to draw not for herself, but for others; for Kyomoto her friend, and her fan.

I especially liked the scene when they were in the city and ayumu was holding kyomotos hand running around. The POV’s + other scenes made me realise how much Kyomoto depends on ayumu, always behind, following her. when Kyomoto said she wanted to attend art school, it was probably her first decision to be independent , to walk her own path as an artist instead. Ironically this freedom costed her life, and I found that pretty sad

It’s Padme Week and the 500th post on DSWCP, so here is the cutest Anidala moment in all of Star Wars comics! I like that it is just a little ominous.
