"All I remember is how freaking cold that night was. And I was coming from New York. I was coming all the way from New York where with the brutal winters and that wind chill factor and the wind is kind of like cutting your face."
Cote de Pablo for Off-Duty Podcast
"There is a lot of men touching men in this episode. It is answering questions about what is inappropriate and appropriate."
Michael Weatherly for Off-Duty Podcast
"[About Probie feminine skin care cream]. This is something that jumped at me as I was watching this. I was like: 'Holy crap". In today's climate, this would be like totally wrong. And when we were shooting it, I think maybe we are like: 'What?' But we went with it because obviously we are actors, we are like: 'Okay, let is push the envelope a little.'"

"The masculinity and the sexual orientation … I think what is was meant to do then even through the lens of now it is still achieved. Tony is wrong about a lot. In this particular sense, what I found interesting is that McGee is speaking more to that sense of like: 'This makes me uncomfortable.'"
Michael Weatherly for Off-Duty Podcast
"I am confused about how I feel about touching another man's face. I remember doing this on purpose feeling like DiNozzo does not process because he is in the moment. He has an awareness that it did feel good touching another man's face. Does that make me question my sexuality? I wanted that to be there because I always have felt about Tony, there is a lot of posturing and he is trying to present himself as something and he is not entirely surefooted in all of it. And I think you can feel when we talked about that episode."

Tony makes fun of McGee after finding skincare products among his belongings. He then makes a questionable joke about his possible sexuality. Tim defends himself by explaining that he has dry skin and uses a product recommended by his doctor. They are interrupted by Gibbs, as a new case has just come in. A man has been found in ice.
- Tony: Ice? That means ... - Ziva: You are now going to make a really juvenile cold-case joke? - Tony: It was a really good one too.
- Tim: Something wrong, boss? - Gibbs: Just admiring your feminine glow.
In the French version, things are a little bit different:
- Ziva: You are about to make a really bad cold joke. - Tony: Looks like I am rubbing off on you.
In the squad room, McGee asks: Will you be honest with me? - What Tony was saying about me earlier … do I come off as unmanly? Ziva replies: Whatever. I think you are appropriately masculine. However, perhaps not macho. Tony and Gibbs are tough guys, yes?
In this scene, she stands out through her measured attitude. While Tony openly makes fun of McGee, she chooses not to humiliate him. She remains honest but composed, offering a nuanced answer to his question. Rather than judging him, she acknowledges his masculinity while pointing out that he does not fit the more macho standard embodied by Tony and Gibbs. This approach shows that she acts as a support, able to tell the truth without hurting him unnecessarily.
Gibbs, Ziva and McGee enter a dangerous neighborhood to question a gang leader, El Jefe. The atmosphere is immediately tense. Tim tries to appear brave and stand up to the gang, wanting to act tough. The boss remains calm and in control, ready to intervene if necessary. Ziva, silent and observant, watches and assesses, ready to provide support.
McGee’s behavior in this scene seems somewhat ridiculous. As if his pride has been hurt, he tries to prove something by acting tough. It feels overplayed and unnatural for his character. This attempt to adopt a tough guy stance contrasts with his usual reserved and thoughtful personality. Fortunately, he quickly returns to his usual self.

While Tony is supposed to be listening to the gang on the wire, he delegates the task to Ziva. But when he hears her translating, Two ho's are coming over for something called a rainbow party, he tries to take back the listening, which his coworker does not allow: I will give you the summary, while tapping his hand. What she dislikes is his obvious interest in the salacious and absurd side of the rainbow party.
Tony turns to Tim and teases him: Is that man-lotion working for you there, Probie? This latter responds: I did not shave today. I am trying a new look. Abby seems to like it. Ziva adds: It looks nice. It is very manly.
The next scene is very funny. Tony playfully touches his colleague’s chin while simultaneously touching his own, as if comparing textures. They are caught off guard by Gibbs’ sudden entrance. Without missing a beat, Tony comments with his usual flair: It feels good, like a bunny rabbit.
I do not know where I have seen this scene before, but I am sure I have seen a scene that comes close to it somewhere else. Am I the only one?
What is funny is that, while his team briefs him on the current case, Gibbs briefly strokes his own chin under Ziva’s bewildered gaze.
Tony and Tim argue over who will take the lead in the interrogation, which once again highlights their need to prove something. However, Ziva does not try to earn her place; she naturally takes it.

She establishes control as soon as she begins questioning the suspect. When the man says: Do you like smart men, Bonita?, she responds with a slightly contemptuous smile by immediately striking him in the groin with the heel of her shoe, and adds: Sorry. You are not my type.
Next, it is McGee’s turn to try intimidating the suspect. He stands in the interrogation room, repeatedly cracking his knuckles, as if that alone could make him appear threatening. His behavior feels absurd. He tries to act tough, but it lacks credibility and comes across as forced.
When it is Tony’s turn, he is completely relaxed. He plays Tetris on his phone and does not ask the man in front of him any questions, instead making a few casual observations. He even says: My name is Anthony. Friends call me Tony. Which backwards is 'why not'.
The scene highlights the contrast between their methods:
- Tony uses humor, - McGee uses forced intimidation, - Ziva uses calm, direct authority.
And yet none of the three obtains a confession.
Episode rating on IMDB: 7.6/10
