Sorry I’m. Going to reveal that I never finished a single path of hopes (I got soooo bored) and seeing everyone here talk about it is giving me an aneurysm. What do you mean they fire bombed Claude’s character. Edelgard is possessed? Hopes wtf are you doing. Houses is the only lore as far as I’m concerned what is this hot fresh bullshit
Claude decides to forge an alliance with the empire after being invaded by them a few months ago, declaring that their biggest enemy now is Rhea.. despite Rhea only showing up like two times before this.
He says it's okay to invade the Kingdom because they weren't so nice to them some centuries ago. It's also implied he leaked info to make Sreng invade as well. Double whammy.
So he invades Faerghus and fucks shit up, gets Margrave Gautier killed and eventually gets to Fhirdiad. He backtracks after TWISTD does a plot thing in the Federation (because it's no longer the alliance, he's king now). Then he goes to defend Edelgard at Garreg Mach, even though letting her down would mean her death and thus no war (which is pointed out to them). THEN he blitzes Rhea and headshots her with Failnaught while she's the Immaculate One. Yeah, that will definitely end the war!
Fun fact! Shez can even tell Claude that this will NOT end anything because Edelgard is out for conquest. Claude goes "that sucks" and continues with his plan anyway.
Edelgard gets turned into the Hegemon at the end of the first act in Azure Gleam. We find out pretty quickly that it mentally regressed her to when she was a kid. Now she's just a useless puppet who looks sad. Why did Thales not do this in Three Houses? Who knows!
My first time seeing this summer alt for Shez. So I had no idea until now that he had this giant shovel! lol Please tell me he's one of those guys who spends the day at the beach, digging a giant hole or making giant sand castles! LOL ^O^
Be nice to him, dammit. He's going through a lot. ;~;
3Hopes Claude needs hugs and support. But I won't deny that his worse decisions in 3Hopes put him below FE3H Claude for me. Still, let's face it: We all secretly wanted to see a little angst, hurt/comfort for Claude, and 3Hopes sure threw it at us. o_o Then we all wanted to please take it back. I never want to see any harm or distress come to him in actual canon/official source material ever again. ;o;!!!

Well, FE Heroes corroborates this. Claude mentions he knows about medicines (but not curses).
But FE3H also had Claude describe his poisons twice as only causing stomach problems. But does that really mean none of his poison arsenal were more severe, especially during wartime?
I just really like the idea that Claude is prepared to go to extremes, like killing or go to war, but knows to hold that back until it's absolutely needed. It shows a lot of restraint, self mastery, and wisdom, that he's more willing to try non-lethal tactics, like negotiation and avoiding war, FIRST. (But he simultaneously isn't blinded out of practically by unrealistic idealism. Makes the ideals he does strive for seem more credible.)
Which makes it stranger that 3Hopes would show Claude's poisons to be non-lethal, when that version of Claude barely negotiated with Rhea before killing her. Odd.
Anyone against killing in general, could avoid killing. But someone who can, but holds back, is more meaningful (to me). Like in FE3H, when Claude explained to Byleth, right before fighting the emperor, that he'd avoid killing her if he can, but if she threatens his friends, he wouldn't hesitate to kill her. Still even then, i wished Claude had just taken the emperor prisoner or at least had a cutscene coming to grips with deciding to execute her. But instead, FE3H had Byleth do it and have Claude discuss his regrets in killing her, after the fact. Likely because sharing cutscenes with Silver Snow helped the game save processing space. Boo. But with Adrestia so zealously behind their emperor, i guess they wouldn't stop unless she was dead. But even then, you could take her prisoner in secret, and not need to kill her. I dunno... Regardless, Verdant Wind Claude already did enough to be sufficiently paragon in my eyes.
