A 3D collect-a-thon platformer that hearkens back to the early 2000s!
KICKSTARTER IS LIVE! AND THERE'S A HUGE DEMO UPDATE TO GO ALONG WITH IT!
Were there any ideas for Stoney 1 that didn't work out but you'd later implemented into Stoney 2?
Due to the fact both games are built very differently, there wasn't too much that would've been cut from the original game that was brought back for the sequel.
One thing considered for the original game was supposed to have was a "common" collectible that would populate the maps. These collectibles never got as far as being designed as having so many events on screen for each minor collectible would cause a ton of performance problems, it also wasn't logistically possible to keep track of so many specific events across the game within the tools RPG Maker allowed for. Whilst the Golden Rocks were always intended 'Main collectible', this did push me to design the game around more spaced out 'rarer' collectibles. With Godot being much more efficient, I could finally design a game around the structure of collecting more common/frequent collectibles. The only other cut idea that could be considered 'reused' was the idea of a carnival/circus area being in the game, but I opted for the 'Grand Casino' level instead as I felt it would've been more original and less work in terms of assets. As I don't want to repeat level themes from the previous game, this idea is back on the table! But you'll hear much more about that soon...
