I had an appointment with the bariatric clinic yesterday to discuss my options.
My insurance will not cover GLP-1s I can pay out of pocket for the compounded version it is 270.00 a vile. Low does vial can last 7-8 weeks but as they raise my dosing it will eventually be 270 every 4 weeks
They can put me on medication for off label use to help suppress my hunger.
Weight loss surgery, I already have up to date labs, I’ll need an EKG, I will need imaging of my upper GI, I will meet with the nutritionist 2x, I will meet with a psychiatrist to determine if im mentally prepared for weight loss surgery and I will I’ll meet with the surgeon in Sept to determine what surgery would be best.
I was prescribed Wellbutrin, I’ve been on it in the past for anxiety/depression. I lost 60lbs while taking it with calorie counting over 8 months in 2021
I scheduled my appointments so come Sept I’ll meet with the surgeon and discuss G-sleeve.
Hopefully this time next year I’ll be significantly happier with my body.
