I've been taking a character design class, and one of our assignments was to design Jekyll and Hyde, and this is what I came up with #illustrations #characterdesign #characterconcept #jekyllandhyde #2dcharacterdesign https://www.instagram.com/p/CAsUg4PJK-M/?igshid=mg8mkdyz0ib3
Found this old Griftlands poster. This was back before it was a card game.

The process for one of the panels that tells the introduction story content at the beginning of a Rook play through. The first panel is the thumb which I draw very small in Flash. Then I do a tonal panel that goes into game to see the flow early on. It also goes off to bg support at that stage. In this case Vangelis handled the bg! Then I do a tight rough of the characters. After that comes clean up and colour. Then the scene is composited, and light and fx are added. These “slides” as we call ‘em have a little camera drift when they go into game, so we can get some parallax depth and fx anim. Also, it might be interesting to note how the initial idea for the bg can change so much. Later!
