This image was taken at the top of a the ‘25 de Abril Bridge’ in Lisbon. . . We first discovered it in an art gallery. Stupidly I didn’t buy it but that will change. . . The bridge is often mistaken or compared to the Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco, they are both suspension bridges of a similar colour. . . The upper deck carries six car lanes, while the lower deck carries a double track electrified railway. . . It was inaugurated on the 6th of August 1966 with the train platform being in built in 1999. . . One of the lanes, each way, is constructed of steel squares that you can see through. As a child I would be terrified of looking down. Actually I still am. . . Make sure to take a ride on it when your next in Lisbon, and don’t forget to look down, up and all around.
