I took off my shadow And planted it in the grass

While the wind blew silently It sprouted as a plant and grew all across the meadow

Dizzy, like fluttering strands of hair or the ends of a skirt that slow down permanently Under the afternoon skies When the blood flows so well it's impossible to be intoxicated

Trying to still the happy movements that eacape out It spills out

The child is fresh out of the water and smiles so brightly

I hugged it Until the stars inside my soul collapsed

In order to bloom, do we have to be beautiful in such a wild, overgrown way?

You close your eyes eyes And wait for the brilliant blue waves, coming in and receding, to darken

And I tried to paint an awkward, wilting confession in vivid colour But my breath was white

At an age where just wanting something didn't make it possible, Every single one of your days was beautiful
