The Quarrymen play New Clubmoor Hall, Norris Green, Liverpool on the 23rd November 1957, 60 years ago today. These photos, taken by Leslie Kearney, are believed to be the first ever photos of John and Paul together. At the time the Quarrymen’s line up consisted of John and Paul on guitars and vocals, Eric Griffiths on guitar, Len Garry on tea chest bass and Colin Hanton on drums.

Not only did John Thaw and Dennis Waterman appear in the 1976 Morecambe & Wise Christmas Show (first shown in the UK on 25 December 1976) but Eric and Ernie returned the favour and appeared in an episode of The Sweeney titled 'Hearts and Minds' (first shown in the UK on 23 November 1978).

Warlord No. 9, dated 23 November 1974. Great Union Jack Jackson cover by Carlos Cruz. It's a resized interior panel with the colouring making it look like a negative. It's probably one of my top 5 Warlord covers and it really takes me back to the 1970's.
