Vriska had all her eggs in the Blue Team’s basket, and now that that’s fallen through, she only has one option left if she wants to avoid the apocalypse. 

She’s lucky that Karkat already wants her, or she’d essentially be begging him for her life. 

CG: BUT I MEAN YOU CAN JUST DUMP HER CARCASS IN THE KERNEL AND BRING HER BACK STRONGER THAN EVER. AG: Wow. AG: Uh, good to know. AG: I guess. ::::\

Not pictured: Vriska screaming internally, as she realizes she has no excuse not to resurrect her, and is therefore still stuck with her.

Black romance, eh? It’s not a familiar term, but it doesn’t seem too hard to parse. 

It sounds like Karkat is talking about a positive kind of hate that’s analogous to love - the kind of thing you’d see in a particularly tumultuous case of enemies-to-lovers. The implication is that Vriska doesn’t really hate Tavros in the conventional sense - she’s actually, in a way, obsessed with him.

I don’t really see it, though. For one thing, I don’t think Tavros himself has any feelings of ‘black romance’ towards Vriska. He’s obviously not a fan of hers, but I haven’t seen anything to suggest he obsessively hates her - he just doesn’t want anything to do with her.  

CG: I MEAN IF YOU'RE REALLY IMPLYING TAVROS IS YOUR KISMESIS I THINK YOU'RE BRAYING UP THE WRONG FROND NUB. CG: BOTH PARTIES HAVE TO HATE EACH OTHER EQUALLY, I MEAN LIKE TRUE HATE. CG: MAYBE YOUR FEELINGS COME SOMEWHAT CLOSE TO FITTING THE BILL BUT I DON'T THINK HE CAN HATE ANYONE, IT'S WEIRD, HE'S KIND OF BROKEN IN THE HEAD.

Karkat concurs. He doesn’t anti-ship Vriska and Tavros, and neither do I. 

Sounds like this is a recognized type of relationship in troll society - or, at least, it’s something Karkat is familiar with. This isn’t the kind of interest I expected him to have, but in retrospect, it does make sense - the guy is all about hate.
