Today, someone told me that, “One thing is just a slow event– –was not.)
When I’m inside and have my back facing the window, outside–

The most intangible thing is the most adhesive.*²

It’s not falling, but the places that we are most familiar and close with–
–in the places where we can transcend the things that we can perceive or reach –is how it becomes.
Aren’t all of our futures just as equally uncertain?
The designated logic of disappearing is something we can only try in vain to express. The appearance that has disappeared–
After a few years, the people who had known my appearance when I was in my early twenties–
–that form was becoming much more clear.

2. From the letters written by Emily Dickinson.
3. The name of one of Roni Horn’s pieces in her collection the Dickinson Works.
4. From a letter Emily Dickinson wrote to her friend Elizabeth Holland in October of 1870.
