NYF Task: Five Years Future AU
After getting together on January 1st, 2017, Piper and Dana continued dating happily for three years. By this point, they’d moved in together and Piper couldn’t imagine life without Dana. But it came falling down around her when Dana found out about Piper’s continued involvement in the Diamond gang. It led to a massive fight between the two and that night they broke up. They’d fought before, but this was on a different scale. The same night, Piper packed up her things-- what of them she could fit in a bag-- and left not just the apartment, but NYC.Â
She called Wren the next day and told him she was going. He didn’t protest, simply reminding her that if she ever told anyone the secrets she’d learnt as a Diamond, there was nowhere she could run that he wouldn’t find her. Piper didn’t care, she couldn’t be a Diamond any more. She had to get away from NYC and all the pain of the past.
Once she had left, Piper decided to do something she’d always wanted to do but never had the money for: travel. Using a combination of legally and illegally obtained money, she hitchhiked and trained her way around, first through America and then flying to Europe and Asia. She managed to check off quite a few items off her bucket list, including visiting the Philippines, where her maternal grandmother was from.
Now, two years later, she has returned to NYC. Partially because she missed what was her home. Partially because she wouldn’t put it past @liam--evans to track her down if she didn’t meet his kids before they grew up. She didn’t stay in contact with most people while she was gone, or at least not consistently. Now that she’s back, she’s torn between leaving that part of her life behind her and rekindling old connections. It’s a small world though, and even in a city of millions, she’ll likely run into more than a few familiar faces in 2022′s NYC.
