Fox 26 reporter Ivory Hecker outlined what she said is evidence of corruption and censorship at the network in a 17-minute video released Tuesday by the right-wing activist group Project Veritas. The station confirmed to the Chronicle that she has been terminated. It also issued a statement through a spokesperson: "FOX 26 adheres to the highest editorial standards of accuracy and impartiality," according to the statement. "This incident involves nothing more than a disgruntled former employee seeking publicity by promoting a false narrative produced through selective editing and misrepresentation." Hecker, a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor, first announced the allegations during live broadcast at 5 p.m. Monday. The corruption allegations in Tuesday's video largely surround Hecker's reporting and comments on hydroxychloroquine, a drug that last year became the subject of public debate after former President Donald Trump touted it as a cure for COVID-19. Medical experts last year noted that multiple clinical trials found hydroxychloroquine does not benefit those who have become infected. The latest safety review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration points to reports of serious heart rhythm problems and other safety issues, including blood and lymph system disorders, kidney injuries, and liver problems and failure. —Julian Gill, Houston Chronicle Follow @inkagnedotv . . . . . #2020elections #biden #bidenharris2020 #coronavirus #corruption #demokratie #donaldtrump #election #election2020 #fired #fucktrump #kamalaharris #pennsylvania #procreate #puppiesofinstagram #pwdsofinstagram #trump #usa #waterdog #yourefired #firedepartment🔥🚒 #woodfiredoven #firedchicken #firedart #firedrillfriday #firedancer🔥 #firedboys #firedamage #firedpie #firedog https://www.instagram.com/p/CQM50rgpp6Z/?utm_medium=tumblr
