Sometimes a piece of artwork comes along that is heartbreaking in all the best possible ways. And sometimes a very talented artist will keep the hits coming, one after another. This artist has treated all our faves with great sensitivity and humor, making us smile and if we’re honest, sometimes making us cry. The “Thnx, I Didn’t Need My Heart Anyway” award goes to Polmcarts!

With the very useful ability to actually pilot all of us to an offshore plant to build our own fandom nation, this artist con writer has much to give, churning out beautiful fanworks and zines at a pace to make our eventual island community artistically self-sustainable.  Yet what could possibly top the in-depth life they’ve given our favorite plant sniper?  The ‘Quiet Of Our Dreams’ award goes to @starlock!

Where would we be without beanpoles, scragamuffins, scrawny locker-stuffers?  I am referring of course to Nerds, and no nerd is skinnier and more disheveled than this artist’s esteemed brand of Otacon. The award for ‘Gangliest Otanerd’ goes to Justlet_melive!

Doujinshi and comics are a unique melding of artwork and narrative storytelling, which can be a difficult balance to strike. Thankfully, this team was more than up to the task and crafted one an unforgettable book that deserves a place on any fan’s shelf.
