2016 Resolutions: Resolutions Return
My 2nd year of doing a fun, personal challenge is complete! I call themĀ āNew Yearās Resolutionsā, for lack of a better term. For 2016, my art resolutions were:
1) More hair!!!: Ok, Iām not including furry animals in this. The final count is 12 drawings with long hair/facial hair/body hair! Thatās a pro #.
2) BUTTS and more butt touching: 17 butts! Holy shit! Really, thatās great, because it meant I was drawing more legs/full bodies and such to go with said butts. And also more butts, obvs.
3) Multiple subjects: This is def something I need more of when I draw... so Iām only counting where the subjects interact. And itās 7 drawings total! A higher proportion than the year before.
My 2017 resolutions will be posted soon!

Happy new year!
2016: Reflections
- Vacationed to Cuba with my sister I donāt wanna play the whole āwe never go on vacation, we work so hardā card but, like, we never go on vacation and we work so hard. Started the year right, with the last week of January revolving around the beach, mojitos, espressos, cigarettes, and a Quebec boy who literally looks like Trudeau. 10/10 would recommend to a friend (but go in February when the weather isnāt shitty).
- Got a new job This is like my third job in two years lmao but itās permanent, good pay, and I have benefits. I really like the people I work with!
- Bought a house! Big goal of mine, and Iāve wanted to move out for years. I had told myself I wanted to live alone by the time I was 25/26, and I moved out when I was 24. In love with my little home.
- Little goals Finished (well, surpassed) my reading and film goals! Iāve read more books this year than I have any year before, which is pretty cool! And this was the first year I completed myĀ āWatch 52 New-to-me Filmsā goal!
-Bloggy blog I started a blog and actually wrote frequently (1-2x a week, to once every two weeks) until like November. Great way to get my thoughts out but mostly just make writing a regular habit again.
- Weight As usual I wanted to lose more weight but Iām like OKAY with where I am now. Ideally Iād probably want to be 5-10lbs lighter (hard to measure cause the scale is a weird thing). I was pretty active this year, with working out either at home or at the gym for most months.
- Little wins More than ever before, I got out of my comfort zone. Went on job interviews (which I hate), taught myself how to drive on the highway (which was one of my top fears lmao), and had to do a shit ton of paperwork/stressful things when moving out, but I did it! Also I suck at cooking and have been making new recipes like every week. WOO.
YOU GO GIRL
Happy new year sluts, I just accomplished my first resolution (get a tattoo) it really doesn't bother me that it's a santa tattoo or that it's fake...

2016 Resolutions - Final
Ha ha, this was a rough year. Oh well, below the cut for those that are interested.
2016 Reading Challenge
About a year ago, I posted a run-down of the books I read in 2015, as well as three separate posts detailing my reading plans for 2016. Brevity may be the soul of wit, but it is not the soul of this blog.
My 2016 Resolutions reviewed
January: CELEBRATE turning 30 -- I went to Cuba!
February: DOG-SLEDDING -- The snow didnāt cooperate but instead I went sea-kayaking through caves in Lake Michigan to fulfill my itch for a fun outdoor activity.
March:Ā EDIT my #NANOWRIMO -- I went to Belize and did just that.
April: GO NATIONAL -- I was really proud and excited of my working on two multi-city tours at work, the Tomorrow Tour and a TableTalk series.
May: ROAD TRIP -- Keeping up our tradition, my close buddy Mike and I went to Michigan and Wisconsin.
June: LEARN -- This was a fun experiment.
July: INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL -- I went to Belize, in addition to Cuba.
August: STRENGTHEN -- I joined a gym and got a personal trainer.
September: HEALTH -- I started visiting with a nutritionist.
October: TIMELY -- I started having regular morning meetings, which got me in a better habit of being on time, which I tried to do also at work.
November: INVEST -- I bought an investment property and again donated a percentage of my income.
December: RESOLVE -- On it :)Ā
