Golden Army Anniversary: Anniversary Chronicles
The door opened slowly, with a quiet solemnity.
The final act was complete.
You hesitate for a moment, unsure of what to expect.
The room is unexpectedly tidy. All the large crates are stacked neatly in a corner. The floor is clean. And a pleasant, clean emptiness fills the room.
But wait, where had all the items gone? You think. You remember, Franco was carrying them all day, full of items. And now they are stacked aside, empty.
You step closer, still hesitant.
Then you notice the pedestal in the center of the room. It was made from sturdy stone, hard and solid.
How did I not notice this right away?
As you approach the pedestal, golden ornaments along its edges begin to glow, casting a soft, enchanting light.
You don't care about them. You are more attracted to what you see on the top of it.
For a moment you smile cynically to yourself â typical Franco â but then the power of the place knocks you off your thoughts again.
The book is thick, heavy; bound in black and gold leather.
And it is ancient. Something extraordinary. You feel it.
This time, you donât hesitate anymore.
You open it, and the world changes around you.
You are no longer standing in the basement room of the Golden Stadium.
You are floating in black void, surrounded by thousands of flickering images swirling in sparkling golden dust.
You try to study them, but they move too fast. You only see a flash of the rapidly changing images. But that's enough. You already know what they are.
The history, past, and legacy of the Army. Its triumphs, its challenges, its growth â every moment condensed into these swirling fragments.
Your eyes try to catch them all, but there are too many. You can't even decide which one you should pick first. You want to see all of them, but you know it's impossible.
You reach out instinctively, touching one of the images.
The picture pulls you in. The rest fade away, and now its just you standing in the center of the room with the huge book in your hand. You witness, as the surroundings change around you.
A room from Crescent High. Students. Laughter.
You see the young men wearing the official AC Milan kit of the Golden Army, with ties. You see them laugh cheerful, mindless and light-hearted. They are transformed before your eyes, guided by spirit and camaraderie. You see Richard, Captain of the Golden Army. The whole scene is filled with the sense of transformation.
You look to the book, and realise, that there is now text on the pages. The story of the Crescent High. A fragment of the past.
But you cannot read it now. You want to, but you have so many other things to discover.
You turn to the next page.
Maple Heights. An other classic tale, and the introduction of the Polo-Drones. A milestone for the Golden Army.
You see Luke, as he puts on his black, shiny rubber polo for the first time, and transforms into a perfect Polo-Drone. You can feel the calm, cold embrace of the rubber hugging him tightly, molding him, transforming him.
This was the moment, where the Golden Army was gaining one of its core identity. The power of obedience. The ability to follow, and act unified. And this ability condensed into shiny black rubber before your eyes.
You want to read the story. You want to know, what happened in that neighbourhood. But there is no time for that.
The pages turn on their own, racing forward through time.
New pictures flicker, and on the top of the page is a new title: No. 20
You arenât standing on the streets of Maple Heights anymore. You are standing in the Golden Stadium.
But it is now different what you remember. Ricardo, Walter and the others are here. And Dylan Gold. No other, than the architect of the Golden Stadium.
This was the moment, when the home stadium of the Golden Army was opened. The stadium, fifty thousand seats strong, gleaming under the sun. The place where many battles would be fought. The memory pulses with pride, and you feel it like a living heartbeat.
Again, you want to read the story, but it is too late. The pages spin fast, and No. 20 is washed over with new memories.
Countless new images flash before you, and the next moment you stand on the grassy fields of Amberwick. You can smell the gold in the air. You know, whatâs going to happen. You know this story. Still, you are watching as 021 is transformed.
You watch with awe, sensing the thrill of accomplishment. Something deep inside you has moved a bit.
You stand in the team lounge, next to Maximus, Sam and Jayden.
They are playing Urban Dominion. You can almost feel the tension of the game, the transformation of the players, the way they become of the game. It feels so close, so tangible, like you could join anytime, you wish.
You step closer to see the board, but the book in your hands guides you further in the labyrinth of memories.
You stand before the massive gates of the Golden Library. You know this magical place. Your heart beats faster, as you remember, this is the place, where the books show you your deepest desires. You donât hesitate, when you see Franco passing by, and enter the Library.
You want to follow him, but the images flicker, and the memory fades again.
New images swirl around you again. But the images become too fast to keep track.
You see Midas Enterprises, and its time travels.
You see Hudson painting âChampions Never Quit!â on the coolers.
You see Jorge transforming and embracing confidence in the Golden Labyrinth.
You see Nate developing a mysterious golden compound.
You see Fenrir standing beneath a majestic volcano.
You see Ross encountering Nate from the Phantom Aces in a pub.
You see Isaac pouring a refreshing drink in the Golden Chalice.
You see Nils preparing water for the team members.
You see Golden Bros and Polo-Drones representing themselves on the Pride.
You see as a newly joined recruit receives his golden jersey in the brocess.
You see the transformation of a drone, as the rubber envelops it, and a level 2 Polo-Drone is born.
So many countless moments shaping the Armyâs identity. So many images to process. You cannot do that. Your senses are overloaded, and you drop to your knees. But the book responds, slowing the whirl.
It doesn't try to show everything at once anymore. Instead, the wildly swirling images become orderly, thematic.
The book shows you the Golden Army, the whole team. On one side, stand the Polo-Drones, obedient, disciplined, molded in shiny black rubber gear. On the other side, the Golden Bros, shining, proud, their golden jerseys gleaming in the light.
You swallow. You can't imagine a more perfect harmony: the way the black obedience and golden pride blend into a perfect, solid alloy that is the Golden Army itself.
Other figures appear. Other aspects of the Army.
Golden preppies, tidy and disciplined.
Golden pups, loyal and playful.
Golden Gods, strong and powerful.
Golden chavs. Golden arabs. And countless other forms emerge from the background.
The Golden Army is so diverse, and yet, unified. You think. And you know, it is true. You know that what you desire will come true here. Let the Golden Army be, what you seek.
Memories from past matches emerge.
You see the various opponents of the Golden Army: The Vanguard. The Redbacks. The Crushers. The Emerald Titans. The Pachy Pack. The Phantom Aces. The Orange Ocelots. The Neon Vortex. And the Cyan Collective.
Challenges faced. Lessons learned. The Army endured, growing stronger, shining brighter.
You feel the atmosphere of the past one year surrounding you, engulfing you, uplifting you, and giving you a big, powerful drive for continuing and preserving the legacy in the future.
You can smell the gold in the air.
You can feel the cool black rubber, the gleaming golden fabric on your skin.
You can hear the whisper of countless members, who were and who are part of the team. They whisper from joy, laughter and great stories from the past.
The memories themselves breathe life, motivation, pride.
The pages turn relentlessly, until the book reaches blank pages â white, empty. You know, what does that mean.
The future awaits. Nothing is written yet.
Slowly, words with curlicue letters appear at the top: âThe Futureâ. An image forms below.
You lean closer to the book, curiously, to see, what the future brings.
But the picture is only a reflective surface, like a mirror. You see your own face.
It isnât just you. It is you, wearing the golden kit. Gleaming jersey and perfectly fitted shorts. Your number and name emblazoned proudly in the front of the jersey.
You look happy, proud. You are a member of the Golden Army.
Your heart pounds with excitement.
You slowly smooth over your chest, and your reflection does the same. You feel, that you are wearing the golden jersey. It is not a mirage. It is reality.
You look at yourself and can't get enough of the sight. You're not the same person you were when you entered the room. You are now a better version of yourself, standing in golden uniform.
You know the Golden Army. You have known it all along. You have always belonged here. You know what it stands for, and you couldn't imagine ever wanting anything else than to be in their ranks.
You drop to your knees again. This time willingly.
You close the heavy book.
You were emptied, then refilled with GOLD. You are still processing the whole experience.
The golden ornaments pulse on the pedestal.
A hand takes the book from your weak grip.
You look up, and you see Morpheus.
He smiles at you with a gentle smile. His expressions are soft, dreamy, but he seems satisfied.
âYou liked that?â he asks you. âI worked hard to make it worthy of the Golden Army Anniversary.â
You donât answer. You are unable to.
The Golden God places the book back to its place on the pedestal.
âThis will remain here, where it belongs.â Then a wider smile creeps onto his face, and his expression changes.
âWelcome to the Golden Army, bro!â Franco says, smiling widely. âThe future is ours!â he adds, then he walks out of the room, towards the light and the future. You stay behind, awe-filled, proud, ready to write the next chapter.
