1) Martin is the delicious creation of @caterpillarsims. He is the grandson of Darren and Darlene Dreamer. He can be downloadedĀ here.
2) He was once featured in a very pervy advertising billboard, the product of a lot of banter on my blog at the time around the word ācocksureā ;=). Tumblr removed the Billboard post from both of our blogs and sent it to titty jail, but you can still view it in all its original glory here on my Wordpress. Needless to say it is N*S*F*W.
3) In my game and story, Martin is a stoner who is a little bit of a simpleton, or at least thatās how he presents himself. JoĆ«l is always taking advantage of him, especially when it comes to breaks.Ā Ā
4) Martin has a few female friends with whom he will occasionally have sex, but he has not had a steady girlfriend for four or five years.
5) Martin loves skateboarding. Itās his preferred mode of transport, and also how he maintains his awesome physique.
I forgot I had this in my drafts. It was unfinished and now I donāt know where I was going to go with it haha. But Iāll try to get back to it. I used to criticize myself for her storyline a lot, but now Iāve kinda forgiven myself for that, it helped me deal with some things and I didnāt know any better. However, if I ever get the chance toĀ ārebootā her story, Iāve got a few ideas for changes. Iām not saying all of them will make it there in the end, but they might.
Itās under the cut (I hope; tumblr likes to mess this up) because it got quite long haha.
First off, I think Miracle was homeschooled for a long time. Obviously Caleb loved her, but he also knew that kids are mean and theyād point out her differences and he wanted to shelter her from that for as long as possible. Was that a good decision? I mean, I guess, although it definitely did some harm at the same time. But I think he knew that and he took the risk. It was a difficult choice and there were some discussions with other family members.
Well, homeschooled probably isnāt the right word, because Miracle often went to the library with her dad and Rachel and just learned from there (instead of staying at home all the time). It was also pretty much the only place where she got to see other children her age aside from her cousins, but she was shy, she didnāt really talk to them. Usually, she just sat in the office.
So there comes the point where Miracle *has* to go to a real school because sheās too old to be homeschooled, right? It was, as youād probably expect, bit of a hell. She didnāt have problems adjusting to classes, she quickly became a good student, but her classmates were...not nice. Most of them just ignored her and/or made mean comments about her behind her back.
One point from the original story I would like to keep is her encounter with another alien and learning that she can, in fact, change her appearance to look more alien or human as she pleases. She spends all summer before uni trying to learn that. She realizes it depends a lot on her emotions. The happier she is, the more likely sheāll successfully use this ability, whereas negative emotions either block this ability or make it very unstable.
Enter Adam. Miracle randomly meets him by the pond, just like she did in the original story. Sheās wearing her sunglasses, he doesnāt know sheās an alien, they quickly get close and almost kiss, very quickĀ love at first sight, but, just like in the original, that doesnāt happen. Still, the happiness and love Miracle feels from meeting him makes her powers finally work better. She achieves her goal - for now.
As for how I would reimagine the most important part of her storyline, the part where sheās in uni - Iāll keep that to myself for now as this is already getting long. But what Iād definitely do is giving Esme, MiracleāsĀ āevil roommateā more personality. She was a one-dimensional mean girl originally, only existing to make Miracleās life hell. Esme could be more than a close-minded pretty rich girl. I think that she could be nicer to Miracle (genuinely nicer), they could even be friends on some level, but she would nope right out of there when she finds the truth. Because itās Esme.
In the end, Miracleās story would again be about accepting yourself, about not hiding behind a mask, being proud of who you are, but not in the same way I did it originally (it resonated with me when I was 17, it doesnāt resonate with me now and I wouldnāt tell it the same way to a 17 year old now). Additionally, I think Iād also portray this situation where you finally get what youāve always wanted, a group of amazing friends, and youāre so afraid of losing them that you adjust yourself for them but start losing yourself, your true you, at the same time, if that makes sense. Thatās something I wish I didnāt have experience with... I can see that happening to her, considering Esmeās popularity and all that...you just wouldnāt want to get on her bad side.
