When Louis shut his front door behind him and turned the corner he was stunned to find a boy standing naked in the middle of his lounge. His hair was curly and longer than his shoulders, his eyes wide and wet, brimming with tears but a piercing green. He was standing somewhat without shame, like he didn’t know he was bare, and he was fully locked in on Louis. Before Louis could do anything he watched him positively crumple, almost comic if it weren’t so devastating, the way his limbs folded in on one another like they were nothing more than soft, rippling fabric. Louis looked down for a few moments, completely puzzled, before eyeing a faint red mark around the top of his thigh. It was scar tissue, jagged, but long healed over. It was at that moment Louis knew. He stepped away without another word.

harry had it all. a successful solo career, amazing friends, a wonderful partner. when his partner of 10 years breaks up with him out of the blue, he convinces himself it was mutual to cope. when he realizes that he’s still in love and the breakup was never mutual, he does what he should’ve done before: fight to be with louis.

“Hello?”

It's tentative, the voice. Louis keeps his eyes firmly closed. This isn't real, he tells himself. This isn't happening. He’d been so careful.

Zayn was going to kill him. Fuck. He’d known better than to go out for a supply run on his own. But Susie had been sick and he hadn’t wanted to take Mike with him when he was so worried about his little sister. She was only eleven years old, it wasn’t like she could stay on her own.

He scrunches his eyes shut even tighter, as though that can keep the horrible truth at bay. He doesn’t have to be different, he tells himself. He can just ignore-

Harry narrows his eyes. “To be frank with you Louis, I don’t really have time for that. And even if I did, I don’t really care.”

Louis’ brows raise in shock, but he seems to mask it quickly enough. “You’re planning to defend me in court and you don’t even want to know if I’m guilty of a heinous crime?” Louis sounds genuinely curious.

(Or the one where human lawyer Harry Styles is defending Louis Tomlinson, a witch accused of using black magic to kill another witch. Louis most definitely uses black magic, but Harry believes him when he says he didn’t kill anyone. Can they prove Louis’ innocence before the real killer gets to them first?)
