William D. Hassler worked as a commercial photographer in New York City from 1909 to his death in 1921. His photographs, which are now held in the collection of The New York Historical, give us a glimpse of what New York City would have looked like at the time.
In addition to a wide range of images of different subjects, Hassler also took many pictures of his family life, including his son William Gray Hassler and their family cats, Reddy and Peachees.
