TO BE KILLED THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 BY 12PM: Hello, my name is #Snuggles. My animal id is #121511. #ID121511! I am a desexed female gray #cat at the #Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 12 years 2 months old. I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/4/2021, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- moving - no pets allowed. Snuggles is on the emergency placement list due to behavior reasons. She is having a tough time adjusting to the busy shelter environment and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She responds well to treats but does not allow petting or handling, and will hiss and swat to avoid contact. We believe it is in her best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. A staff member writes: "Hey there, my name is Snuggles. I am very affectionate with people I know, but reeeally shy around strangers. Please be patient when first meeting me because I get overwhelmed really easily, and may take it out on you if you move too quickly. I promise I don't mean it, it's just a reaction that I cannot control. I really enjoy treats, so if you're willing to go slow with me and offer lots of goodies, eventually I'll warm up to you and I promise to give you lots of snuggles." no one understands how I truly feel right now. feeling helpless because I’m not at your side. you’re laying there in a hospital bed. not knowing if you’ll wake up. why is it that the two people who did this to you are the ones that get to be with you. not knowing if I’ll ever get a ‘hey beautiful’ random texts kills me. not knowing if you’ll ever tell me ‘you’ll be ard.’ ever since I found out what happened thinking about it makes me cry. thinking about how selfish I sounded when you were going thru so much other shit. I cant even imagine how lonely you felt. how lost. how confused. you wanted your kids and no one else. you told me you had no reason to live if you didn’t have them. how could they take them away from you when all you wanted was the best for your kids. all you wanted was to make sure they had everything they had. how could they be selfish enough to just see you alone and not give a fuck. you have to wake up. you have to pull thru for not only yourself but for your two kids. you’re strong. I know you’ll get thru this. I know you’re gonna wake up from this bad dream. I know I’m gonna get those texts. telling me that you’re awake and okay. I love you Robert Jones.
