what is this world you've brought me into

was it the same one you weathered? the same seas you sailed?

did you weep as i now do

and yet you still brought me here?

mother, my dear mother

was this the life, that which you bore

the life that i was expected to see

the one you dreamed for your boy?

I've examined it all myself

but we must have reached dissimilar conclusions

because i wouldn't promise this life to anybody
