okay, so this is the German tent tour (8 January 2012) and Mark John Richardson was off as Misto, so Jack Allen (Pouncival) was covering for him.

Up he comes like the dramatic gay he is, waving Alonzo and Cassandra and Plato aside - 'cool it guys, I've got this'.

But then, on 'terrible bore', he does something I cannot imagine MJR's Mister 'Disdain' Mistoffelees doing... he gives an example:

To which, Tugger, tapping him on the shoulder and checking he's watching: "Nah, that's not how you do it, let me show you again." (Meanwhile, Cassandra is riding Alonzo in the background.)

Then they go in for a spot of competitive hissing before Mistoffelees admits defeat crushes him with his indifference by walking away, and Tugger celebrates victory with a flounce and a skip, dramatically flinging Plato to the ground in passing.

He snuffles at the air, trying to work it out!

Rumpelteazer's the first to figure it out. She squeals 'TUGGER!!!' Jelly looks mildly irritated. Mistoffelees grimaces, but it turns into a grin.

It is He. Well, this should be fun! Prepare the best roasting.

German tour 8 Jan 2012: fun with covers and split tracks! Pounce and Tumble are missing, Skimble is covered by Dane Quixall, Misto is covered by first-cast Pounce Jack Allen, and Adam Margilewski is being theoretically Plato but effectively all the male kittens/ensemble cats. Especially because Coricopat is a girl - making this the earliest footage I know of with same-sex/genderbent psychic twins.

Plato gets especially busy here in 'Song of the Jellicles', taking over Tumblebrutus' track and a bit of Pouncival's (as well as occasionally having to be himself). This snippet is particularly fun because we get to see Plato being the kitten that he doesn't tend to be when the other boys are onstage!

Because Pouncival is absent, Alonzo gets to finish the 'merry and bright' line without interruption. Then Skimble comes in, followed by Plato-pretending-to-be-Tumblebrutus. He then runs over to mock (presumably) Alonzo and Munkustrap, on 'Jellicle cats are not too big' and do a backflip, then goes back to flirt with Electra and follow her in doing a cartwheel across the stage—which he, of course, flubs.

A chaotic night, with far too few boys onstage.

Tugger has to kick an imaginary ball - and Alonzo almost doesn't get there in time to catch Cassandra when she swoons!

German tent tour, Oberhausen, 8 January 2012. Pounce and Tumble are missing, and Cori is covered by one of the female swings, so Plato and Alonzo are basically the only ensemble boys.

Tugger having a brief flirt with Jenny and Jelly, then running to escort Deuteronomy around the stage as usual - until he remembers that Tumble and Pounce are both missing today (and Cori is temporarily female), so he has to go and be a Skimblestep!

German tent tour, 8 January 2012. Skimbleshanks is covered by Dane Quixall, Munkustrap is David Arnsperger, Mungojerrie is Gavin Eden. For the others, I'm pretty sure Tugger is first cast Dominik Hees; and I think Jenny, Jelly, and Deut are first cast Eva Maria Bender, Karen Selig, and Pieter Tredoux.

Plato having to be all the male kittens at once in 'Song of the Jellicles' because Pouncival and Tumble are both off. Fortunately this swing (Adam Margilewski) knows all those tracks...

And hey, Alonzo gets to finish his line for once without being interrupted by a baby!
