Adieu to Street Running
Seen from a distance, a westbound job, number 18, is headed our way. We're peering down 11th Street in Michigan City, Indiana.
The train will soon pass the historical station that's been taken out of service and is currently being rebuilt. The line itself along here will be double-tracked, negating entirely this historical, if quaint, section of street running.
This was the Chicago, South Shore & South Bend Railroad of course; the remaining passenger services of which are now known simply as the South Shore Line and run by the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District.
