I haven’t tried shifting in about a month- and as much as I understand why I did that it feels like I’ve lost all my progress. Like I logged off a game after hours of work and forgot to click a save point. I used to be so connected to my DR, to my methods, to my community. But now every time I try to shift I’m scared it won’t work and that there’s something I’m missing.

I know this is the kind of fear that you HAVE to suck up however it’s hard when you used to be so close to shifting you could practically smell it (in many attempts I did) and now I go to sleep without any symptoms.

I think this is more because it’s a newer DR that brought me back. I started trying to shift to MHA back in 2020 and let me tell you I’m so glad I didn’t shift there I gave myself so much trauma oh lord. But then I started trying for Harry Potter and that became my main DR for 4 years. Now that I’m trying to shift to MHA again ofc it’s going to feel a little bit weird, no?

But druing the summer the only reason I had (what i deemed) a lot of success was because of what I deemed my limits to be. I would make methods on the fly and believe they could work and they did, I wouldn’t be surprised when I got symptoms because I thought I’d be normal. Of course my I drew the line of my limitless with actually getting to my DR but regardless I was close.

I think I’m also overthinking it. You can have doubts and still shift, you can not try and still shift and you can have no symptoms and still shift.

Regardless of that scripting- an immense amount of fun. I’ve spent hours working on my quirk, on my hero suit, my backstory, and the plot. I even went back to real drawing (which I haven’t done in about a year) AND used photobombing to make her hero costume. My Pinterest board for this Dr has gone from having 20 pins at most to having 600 pins and 26 section.

However, even with the amount of fun I’ve been having there’s something I just can’t script or even see play out really and that’s my S/O. Now am I planning my romance with my S/O other before I get there? Yes. It’s out of the norm of what I would usually do and that’s because I can’t see this happening naturally because I did pick the obnoxiously loud blonde as my romantic interest. He is the most common and uncreative S/O but cut me some slack, I’ve had a massive crush on him since the anime came out in 2018.

I did script out a lot of the war stuff by the way and made the whole plot of the series go slower so it’s less trauma on us and we have more time to be teens. Like the war arc will only really kick off around our third year.

Anyways back on topic. My issue with scripting Bakugou as an S/O is that I want a friends/academic rivals to lovers kind of thing to happen. This is so incredibly hard because even back in 2018 when I would obsessively read Bakugou x Reader slow burn most of it was enemies to lovers. Now as appealing as just experience an enemies to lovers romance might sound; trust me it’s not. I’ve had crushes on people I don’t like and nothing about it is hot or fun, it’s just confusing and a little degrading. Additionally since I’ve liked him for so long I don’t think my poor heart could handle him disliking me to the point of considering me an enemy.

Now I will compromise and go for an academic rivalry, because this can be playful and realistic. With how hard I scripted I work in my DR it makes sense I would compete with him for the top spot. And his pettiness to beat me motivating him to work a little harder gives him a reason not to avoid me when he catches feelings. Since I won’t be a nuisance or a roadblock to his goal of becoming a number one hero but instead I’d be someone he respects and admires who pushed him to do better.

However I don’t even know how to script that we become friends without that initial enemy phase I’m so familiar with. Maybe I’ll try and minimize it? Like at the U.S.J. we get warped into the same area and he sees my fighting skills and respects me a little more because of em? Something like that.
