What If You’re Someone I Just Want Around? by ErithEl (1/1 | 14,323 | Teen and Up)
Five times Lance asked Keith to stay, and one time Keith asked Lance.
“Where are you planning to go?” When Lance’s voice came, there was no laughter in it.
Keith clutched the strap of his backpack, shaking his head. “Nowhere. Away. I don’t know. It doesn’t matter.”
“I have an alternative.”

“I’d give you everything, the whole universe, all of it,” Keith says, slightly slurred, hands flapping wildly with his arms still heavy over Lance’s shoulders.
Lance laughs, bright and echoey off the castle’s walls, and gently directs them closer to the lounge.
“Everything? Are you sure? Even Kosmo?”
Keith falters momentarily and furrows his eyebrows, tilting his head to the side as if it’ll help him make the most serious decision ever. His seriousness stretches the smile on Lance’s face, and he can barely hold back a second wave of laughter.
Or: 5 times Keith gives Lance everything, + 1 time Lance gave it back

Keith hesitates, unsure of if he’s willing to trust these strangers, before deciding he probably has nothing to lose. That maybe if he complies with their questions and requests they’ll answer his questions as well, and he won’t be swallowed by his desperation for answers.
“I remember Shiro. And getting into the Garrison. And...and,”
Keith means to say “and tomorrow is Taco Tuesday.” At least according to Shiro. He’s been waiting all month for his first taco Tuesday after hearing Matt hype it up valiantly since he got into the Garrison nearly a month ago.
But hearing his voice, actually listening to it, he realizes it’s a lot deeper than he remembers. A lot deeper than it’s ever been. Is he sick? He doesn’t feel sick. At least not in his throat. He feels a piercing headache and soreness in his ribs and limbs, but not a cold or flu.
He looks down at his hands and gasps at what he sees. They’re huge! Okay, maybe not exactly huge. But they’re hard to recognize nonetheless. They’re calloused and uninviting and larger than he’s used to. They remind him of his dad almost.
