maybe this is me reading too much into a one-off childhood fact but i really enjoy thinking about sam’s magic phase as another example of him searching for a little bit of control in a life he doesn’t like and struggles to understand, especially because he says in 04x12 that he was thirteen (“i was thirteen. it was a phase”) which is both a few years after he learns about hunting and most likely after he started joining john and dean on hunts (“he’s been running into burning buildings since he was, what, 12?” from 05x22). i like the idea of it functioning as him emulating the things that he sees on hunts (making things disappear, appear, etc) but he’s the one that’s making it happen and the one cueing the harmless action, instead of having the action done towards him (usually in a surprising and/or violent manner).
it would have been the ultimate power move if when everyone was having the "well triton's daughter had to be the one to bring him back, but his son will be the end of worlds" realisation, if rachel had of pulled out the "well guys actually... would now be a good time to come out??" and then boom pow trans rachel, the world gets saved etc etc

And I thought Supernatural's queerbait was bad,,,,,,,
But now I'm watching House MD (specifically I just finished 04x12 and 04x13) AND DESTIEL HAS NOTHING ON HILSON istg this is on a whole other level.
I don't even know where to start.
First House as soon as he noticed a little change in how Wilson was dressing understand that he has a date and he's upset cause Wilson hasn't told him anything about her so ofc he proceeds to follow Wilson and storm into the restaurant where he was waiting for her just to find out who she is and then act all pissy about it. Then it's let's-break-them-up time!!! He breaks into Wilson's girlfriend's house to tell her to break up with him and when he sees her with his sweatshirt he gets angry and tells her to give it back. And you would think that's all BUT NO!!! he finally decides that he can ""accept"" them but now he can't just let her have him all the time, nope, they should share him cause he deserves time with Wilson too, so they settle on Wednesday until 11pm and every other weekend. When finally Wednesday comes what does he do? He gets Wilson drunk cause he knows (he knows cause he specifically asked Wilson's ex wives) that he can't get it up when he's drunk so when he goes home back to Amber they won't be able to have s3x.
AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FACT THAT AMBER IS BASICALLY A FEMALE VERSION OF HOUSE PERSONALITY SPEAKING AND BOTH HOUSE AND WILSON REALIZED THAT AND WILSON HAS THE MF AUDACITY OF SAYING THAT THAT'S EXACTLY WHY THIS RELATIONSHIP COULD ACTUALLY WORK CAUSE HE AND HOUSE ARE ALREADY BASICALLY A COUPLE AND AMBER IS JUST LIKE HOUSE.
The way I can't find a heterosexual explanation to any of this and I'm pretty sure no one could ever find one cause there ISN'T one.
I've watched supernatural for years you would think I would be used to queerbait BUT FR NOTHING COULD HAVE EVER PREPARED ME FOR HILSON.
