God the second part of S4 is excruciatingly hard to get through. They're throwing useless romance and new characters at us left and right to make us forget how boring it is.

kena: OK WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK Vi --
trying to settle on a barry series finale prediction before it's too late and based on what i think would be more thematically appropriate, john's introduction has to pay off somehow so he's either going to see his father murder someone or do something violent himself and as a result barry's whole world is going to crash down. on that comforting note, there are two main possible outcomes:
a. cycles are cycling, there's no way out, the end
b. barry's come-to-jesus moment, people can change, the end
i don't think i have a personal preference because ultimately it all depends on how it plays out, but based on the show's track record, i wanna say the first option is more likely? all of these characters have been shown to fall back on — as this review puts it — their core pernicious impulses, over and over again. option b has the potential to be bolder, but again as i said execution is key. i imagine both fuches and cousineau (barry's father figures) being featured prominently in this version of the finale i have in my mind, but i don't know where that leaves sally and hank exactly.
ps there's this spoiler-y credit on imdb and it makes sense for the show to go back to that right at the very end... but i'm not a writer so it's not my job to figure that one out when there's 35 minutes left.
well I was GOING to go to bed.
and then I tried to close my laptop.
and there was a horrific cracking noise.
and now it rattles when I move it. It also doesn't close all the way.
I spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out how the fuck I'd managed to screw something up, then the next ten minutes searching for a tiny screwdriver to pry it open and figure out what's wrong.
we don't have a tiny screwdriver.
I'll have to figure out what's wrong tomorrow. I'm tempted to just go to the store now but I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to go to walmart at one thirty in the morning. and now I'm too pissed off and annoyed to go to sleep. I knew I should've gotten a dell.
