Okay but, can we have more convos between Megatron and Optimus about this kind of thing? Like can you imagine an exchange like:
Optimus: Megatron, you cannot change the minds of the High Council by displaying your anger and hatred--
Megatron: And what's wrong with my anger?!
Optimus: They do not understand it. It scares them.
Megatron: Ha! It should scare them. The rising tide of this revolution is coming for those in power-- and for you as well, Prime.
Optimus: Is that a threat?
Megatron: What do you think?
Optimus: ... I think we should tread lightly. If we don't, a war might--
Megatron: -- Don't lecture me. You've already picked your side; I don't have to listen to you anymore.
Optimus: Megatron... I... I still want to help. I believe in your message, I do. The High Council has played a large role in perpetuating an unjust society for a very long time...
Megatron: ... 'But'...?
Optimus: *sigh* I just feel that there is another way we have yet to discover. A peaceful way.
Megatron: Somehow you've managed to become more naive. You want me to quell the fury that fuels my fellow Decepticons? Is that it? Again, I ask you, what's wrong with my anger?!?
Optimus: M--
Megatron: -- No! I've had enough of your placating words! The Decepticons are angry-- I am angry-- as we have every right to be! If you are under the impression my anger stems from being frustrated with the slow legislative process, you're dead wrong.
Megatron: It is a natural response to my circumstances, and has been festering for a long time-- I simply couldn't place a digit on where it came from, back when I was kicked from the mines and shoved into the Pits-- but now I know.
Megatron: My "anger" recognizes that my experiences and how I've been treated is unacceptable! Because even someone as lowly as a miner without a proper designation can recognize that every mech, regardless of function, deserves kindness and basic respect!
Megatron: It's easy to see the divide between the have's and have-not's; everyone knows this, but rarely is it discussed aloud due to an instinctive discomfort. To that end, it's only a logical conclusion that the High Council is willfully ignorant to the anger of those beneath them, and it's all for the sake of their precious "peace"--
Optimus: -- That's not the sort of "peace" I was implying when I said--
Megatron: -- So forgive us for feeling hatred towards them, for finally loving ourselves enough to be angry on our own behalf! I am only seeking what we deserve. What about you?
Optimus: Me?
Megatron: Yes. You say you still want to help us despite your recent... upgrade. Yet you place yourself in front of them.
Optimus: I... I want to help everyone. I want to resolve this conflict while spilling as little energon as possible...
Megatron: So you'd die for both causes?
Optimus: Megatron, that's not--
Megatron: -- It's not fair, I know. But war isn't fair. Eventually you will have to choose a side...
Optimus: ...
Megatron: ... What happened to your anger, Orion?
Optimus: My--? I... I have a duty now. It's not that simple.
Megatron: ... I think it is.
Optimus: Wait--!
Megatron: Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, you've made your choice. While I'd normally say 'I hope you made the right one', well... you already know my opinion.
Optimus: Megatron, wait, there's still time! We can fix this before things get out of servo...!
Megatron: ... The fact you don't see that it already has is painfully ironic. It's fine to dread a war, but it is here, and if you won't acknowledge that then you're just as willfully ignorant as your Autobot masters. This will be last time we'll meet for these little chats, Optimus Prime...
Optimus: Megatronus!
Megatron: ... Goodbye, old friend.
