Unexpected Discoveries | @Amarcianparadigm
Windor was a much larger country than most people realized. Though the mast majority of activity centred itself in the country's heart, in Lhant, Barona and Gralesyde and the highroads that tied them together, there were many other communities to be found both in the forests to the south and mountains to the north. Much of these lands still sat untouched, none save the trees and the animals to watch over their happenings, and perhaps the odd adventurer. It was in one such place that everything had begun.
Now Richard stood upon the peak of Mt. Zavhert, glad that if nothing else it was not yet the peak of winter, not that it stemmed the cold winds that seemed endless up here. His cloak seemed to do little to shield him from it and it was with a great sigh of relief that he finally stepped into the Amarcian Enclave. The lack of wind was almost startling, as was the ambient temperature. Richard doubted he would ever figure out how they kept such a vast space so comfortably heated. It was a feat of which only the Amarcians and their engineering brilliance was capable, of that much he was certain.
It was one such Amarcian that he sought today and his feet carried him along a familiar path. Perhaps not as familiar as it was to his other friends, but he had been here before, knew where to find his ever cheerful companion should she be at home. The thought had crossed his mind more than once, that perhaps she was off on another of her adventures, or buried in her work elsewhere. He certainly hoped not... though he knew that if she was he would not pester her further. He had been burden enough on his friends in the past year. Though he had to admit... he was not entirely certain how he intended to handle this without her assistance.
He finally found the door he sought, Pascal's name clearly marked upon the front of it and the blond could not make out any sounds to tell if she was within. He paused a moment before knocking, a brief cloud of doubt hanging over his head. He seldom, if he had ever, spent time in her company without the presence of the others. With Asbel and Sophie, he knew them to be his friends but he often wondered if the others only showed him consideration on Asbel's behalf. He could not say he would blame them if they despised him for what he put them through. Perhaps this entire venture had been far too presumptuous of him.
However, this was not for him; he was here because he required assistance with something that could potentially impact his country, and he had his duty as king to consider before any number of personal feelings. He knocked at the door.
Suddenly he was no longer certain if he hoped she answer it.
