He didn’t want to test it just yet. If he said yes with total confidence, he might shatter the rare feeling of normalcy and send himself spiraling back down into the pits of his despair. These moments never lasted, but he wanted to hold onto the feeling and pretend that it would remain.
“Are you going to watch this movie with me or not?”
"Of course.” Rather than lingering on the subject, Itachi chose to affect an air of normalcy. His beloved little brother might fare better without the constant reminder of his condition.
