i need to eventually rant about avatar roku being zuko’s great grandfather

something something zuko’s definition of honor changes from something warped by toxicity and nationalism into something that’s uplifting and not wrapped up in shame. into something that includes all and protects and faces challenges and emotions head on without seeing it as weak.

annabeth is such a head over heart person. and it’s not just oh she’s a daughter of athena so of course she’s logical thing. it’s a matter of how many times does exposing your heart get it broken. how many times does she want love, crave love, need to be saved, only for her to be abandoned and having to save herself. it’s the thought that she’s completely disposable. she’s easy to throw away for someone else. her mother, her father, her stepmother… all the adults in her life chose someone else, loved her less than she deserved so maybe she doesn’t deserve love. maybe she isn’t valuable outside her knowledge and expertise. maybe the only way she can take up some space in someone’s life, in someone’s heart, is the expertise she brings to any given situation. so her head over heart isn’t just her birthright, it’s her trauma.
