kumiko was a ballerina; she fights like she’s dancing. she uses a lot of fluid motions and conservation of energy—she uses her opponent’s strength against them, fighting by just getting out of the way until they tire themselves out and she can strike. she’s also remarkably fast and flexible.
marlene is in the unique position of being both very small and also filled with bloodlust. she also managed to be the top gladiator in a thunderdome-style ring for a few months (and also keeps getting herself in similar situations in literally whatever verse i put her in, regardless of if i have anything to say about it) so go figure! she’s quick and agile, but no good at being really whacked. she can tolerate a lot of pain and still get up, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be useful at all aside from just being annoyingly there. she fights tooth and nail. basically, watch her faceclaim joan chen in salute of the jugger and you’ll get a good idea of what we’re talking about. and yes, i did invent marlene before discovering the existence of that movie... what does it mean...
audrey missed that portion of her starfleet training along with the rest of said training, so she’s not good at all. luckily she’s pretty much never in a position that requires fighting, but she does have a phaser, so it’s pretty much just point and click for her. she has been known to get into bar brawls, though, and fights dirty—smashing bottles, punches and kicks to the groin, biting, the works.
